• French and Indian War 1754:Colonists begin to question loyalty to the King
• Colonists learned how to survive and fight. They learned that they did not need the
British soldiers for protection.
• British realized they needed money to pay for the cost of the war.
• British thank Indians with the Proclamation!

Colonists form a club to band together.
• Colonists began to rebel against the hated taxes. They smuggled goods, burned stamps, and teased the soldiers.
• British sent more and more troops.

tea into Boston Harbor• The British forced the Colonists to buy goods from only British merchants. The
Colonists were angry. • The Colonists would not allow the tea to be unloaded so no tax would be paid. The
tea remained on the ship.
