Terrance’ s Eagle Scout project

Robinson residents should have noticed! A dramatic

change has been underway at the Bird Cage Theater/

City Hall/Community Room area. The overhang was

deteriorating with a significant amount of wood rot

and curling shingles. January 8, 2018 Terrance ap-

peared before the Robinson City Council with plan in

hand and a request to replace and repair. This is what

Terrance had chosen for his Eagle Scout project. He

had already bid the project for materials and was able

to present the cost estimate to the Council. The pro-

ject was approved!

With support from other Boy Scouts and Scout leaders, a

vigorous effort was made prior to the melodrama to make

the improvements that were most esthetically needed. Af-

ter laboring late into the night, the rotten ceiling area was

replaced and given its first coat of paint in time for open-

ing night of the melodrama.

The work continues as weather and schedule (which in-

cludes attending school and working after school) allow.

Terrance took advantage of spring break during the clear

weather days to remove old shingles and reroof the over-

hang. At last check Terrance was waiting for warmer

weather conditions to replace and paint the facia and to

apply a second coat of paint to the ceiling.

Thank you Terrance for a great community project!
