St. Ann Mission Statement: St. Ann Church is a community of faith within the Roman Catholic tradition. Through celebra-

tion of Eucharist and participation in the Sacraments we seek to live our lives as a welcoming family that strives to make

known the living presence of Jesus Christ in the ministry of our everyday lives. Empowered through the word of God we rec-

ognize the call to serve as the defining mark of our community. Personal involvement through participation in one or more of

the ministries to serve the needs of our parish family and local community is invited and encouraged. The Family Center is an

extension of St. Ann Church as a place of welcome and renewal where we strengthen the bonds of community and work to-

gether for the building of the Kingdom of God.

St. Patrick Mission Statement: The mission of St. Patrick Church is to respond faithfully to God’s call as a Roman Catholic

Community. The celebration of Eucharist and the Sacraments are central to our parish life. We seek to care for one another

and to reach out to those members of our community who are in need.

St. Ann’s is a Welcoming Parish!

That being said, St. Ann’s Family Life and Community

Outreach Commission of our Parish Council is seeking vol-

unteers to act as greeters at two doors of the Church, wel-

coming parishioners and guests, extending a hand and greet-

ing people as they enter for Mass.

Volunteers would share a welcoming smile, a handshake,

a greeting and assistance as needed, as people come into our

church.

If you are interested in helping with this new ministry,

please leave your name and phone number, as well as the

Mass you prefer, with the office or by calling Joe Healy at

413-442-9121. With enough volunteers we could each be

called to serve once a month or less.

Please help us further demonstrate our willingness to

reach out to serve God and one another.

Diapers Needed!

Reminder ~ Pregnancy Services of Berkshire

County is always in need of diapers. If you are able to

bring a few diapers or a package of diapers to Mass,

please place them in the front entry of the church .

Paul and St. Patrick parishes to help make

this project another success. Please watch

future bulletins for further details.

Short Excerpts

Taken from Pope Francis’ Addresses And Homilies

WE ARE HIS DWELLING PLACE

Jesus lived the daily reality of the most ordinary people: he

was moved as he faced the crowd that seemed like a flock

without a shepherd; he wept before the sorrow that Martha

and Mary felt at the death of their brother, Lazarus; he

called a publican to be his disciple; he also suffered

betrayal by a friend. In him God has given us the certitude

that he is with us, he is among us. “Foxes,” he, Jesus, said,

“have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the son of

man has nowhere to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20). Jesus

has no house, because his house is the people; it is we who

are his dwelling place; his mission is to open God’s doors

to all, to be the presence of God’s love.

This excerpt was taken from the book, “Pope Francis Speaks to

Our Hearts, Words of Challenge and Hope” by the Word

Among Us.

Lenox Food Pantry

The Lenox Food Pantry could use our help in stocking

the pantry shelves. There are many families in need of a

little bit of extra help and the Lenox Food Pantry is a vital

part of that help. The pantry’s shelves are very bare these

days, so please remember to bring a non-perishable food

item to church with you whenever possible. As we ap-

proach fall and then winter, the need will be increasing.

Just a reminder; when making a donation of canned

goods etc.. Please be aware of the expiration date printed

on the item. St. Ann’s cannot bring the item to the pantry if

the date has come and gone, nor can the pantry give out the

item to anyone.

Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past! It

really does make a difference.

CAN YOU HELP?

St. Ann’s is looking for one new Altar Sodality member.

You would be paired with another member and asked to

give us a hour or two, every 5 to 6 weeks, to polish up the

Altar and sacristies at St. Ann Church. Again, please call

Debbie at 637-0157 if you can help us .

New Location for Blessed Teresa Parish’s

50th Annual Bazaar

The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Housatonic, will

host its 41st Annual Bazaar at a new location. This year’s

bazaar will be held on Friday, Oct. 16th from 5 to 9 p.m.,

and on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St.

Peter Parish Center, located at 16 Russell St. in Great Bar-

rington. Admission and parking from the East Street en-

trance are free.

In keeping with the bazaar’s tradition, “there will be

plenty of food, games, raffles, and good family-fun for all

ages,” assured Rev. Murphy. Some of the prizes will in-

clude a flat screen TV, an Amish quilt, and picture by Na-

tional Geographic photographer John Stanmeyer. There

will also be a variety of Fall and holiday crafts, jewelry,

fudge, pies, and baked goods available for sale.

On Friday evening, there will be a silent auction featuring

a UniFlame patio heater, a private wine tasting, theater tick-

ets, private fishing outing, and certificates for area restau-

rants and hotels. There will also be a variety of traditional

Polish & Italian foods, hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice

cream available for sale.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Blessed Teresa

of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic. For more information call
