Title Card - The Room

DISSOLVE TO:

INT. BATHROOM - DAY

We open with a close up of a woman's eye. The scene is lit

with a pulsating green light. The eye suddenly opens and the

camera quickly zooms back to reveal a woman tied up laying

face down on a plastic floor. Her hands and feet are tied

up. She has a gag over her mouth.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's hands are bound by a plastic tie. They

twitch and turn as she realises that they are bound and

subsequently tries to free them.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's face. She twists and turns, struggling

to move.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her hands as she tries to free them, before giving

up.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Back to the woman's face as she give up trying to

free her hands. She proceeds to rub her face on the floor in

order to free the gag.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She continues to rub her face until the gag

starts to come off.

TIME CUT TO:

FLASHBACK: We see the woman asleep in her bed. Suddenly a

pair of hands wearing black gloves move into shot and grab

her mouth. They place a chloroformed cloth over her mouth,

she struggles before falling a sleep.

TIME CUT TO:

FLASHFOWARD: CLOSE UP: We cut back to a close up of her face

as she manages to remove the gag. She breathes heavily and

frantically.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She pauses for a second before looking around the

bathroom.

CUT TO:

P.O.V She surveys the room. She see's an old bath, a sink, a

chair and wooden boards covering the only window.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She looks down towards the tie around her feet.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: On her big toe is a cardboard tag. It has a number

written on it. She looks puzzled at this for a few seconds.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She gets up and stumbles over towards the chair.

The chair is lying upside down. She loops her hands over one

of its legs and proceeds to pull against them.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her hands. The plastic tie starts to stretch.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's face. She struggles to free her hands.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her hands. The plastic tie stretches further and

begins to give way. Suddenly the chair leg breaks and the

woman jolts forward.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The chair leg hits the floor.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her hands remained tied.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She slumps to the floor in quiet desperation.

CUT TO:

MEDIUM CLOSE UP: She breathes heavily, contemplating her

next move. She looks down underneath the sink.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: She moves towards the sink, before turning to look

underneath.

CUT TO:

LOW ANGLE SHOT: She proceeds to look underneath the sink.

Under the sink is bathed in a blue light.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: A metal nail lays under the sink.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's face as she notices the nail.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her leg stretches out to drag the nail back.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Woman's face as she looks at the nail.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's hands as she starts to force the nail

into the plastic tie. After a few attempts it breaks the

plastic.

TIME CUT TO:

FLASHBACK: We cut to a close up of the woman's hands from

behind. The man with black gloves forces a plastic tie

around her's as she remains semi-unconscious and slumped

forward.

TIME CUT TO:

FLASHFOWARD: CLOSE UP: The woman's face as she realises

she's free from the plastic tie.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: The woman gets up and proceeds to undo her leg

restraints.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: Shot from the other side. She moves over towards

the window and tries to pull the wooden boards off. They

don't move. She bends down to pick up the part of the chair

leg which has fallen off.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: She picks up the chair leg.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She hits the leg into the wooden panel. It starts

crack. After a few more hits it breaks enough for her to get

a hand behind it.

CUT TO:

ALT WIDE SHOT: As she pulls the wooden board fully off the

room is flooded with a red light. As the room fills with the

red light it is revealed that behind the wooden board the

window is bricked up.

CUT TO:

ALT WIDE SHOT: The woman slumps to the floor in defeat.

TIME CUT TO:

FLASHBACK: The woman, still unconscious, is bundled into theboot of a car by the man with black gloves. We don't see his

face only a close-up of the woman. The hands move up to

close the boot lid.

TIME CUT TO:

FLASHFOWARD: CLOSE UP: She rubs her face before getting back

up and moving out of shot.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She moves over towards the door and tried the

handle.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: She tries the door handle. The door doesn't open.

She looks into the keyhole.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: A shot into the keyhole.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: As she tries to force against the door. It

doesn't budge. She looks down towards the floor.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Of the floor.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: AS she bends down towards the floorboards.

CUT TO:

VARIOUS SHOTS: She runs her hands over the floor and towards

the corners of the room. The camera follows her hands as she

searches. Eventually she finds a hair pin. She picks it up.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: She moves back towards the door. She moves the

hair pin into the lock.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: She tries the lock.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her face as she tries the lock.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The lock as the hair pin finally unlocks it.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: Her face displaying a sense of relief as the door

opens.

CUT TO:

WIDE SHOT: The door opens and the woman exits.

CUT TO:

INT. CORRIDOR - DAY

The woman makes her way out into the corridor. She tries a

few doors but to no avail. She then tries the front door. Itbegins to open.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's expression as the door open's.

CUT TO:

MEDIUM CLOSE UP: We see a man enter. We only see him from

the waste down.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The Woman's expression as she realises who the man

is. She seems slightly confused.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: We see the man's face. They obviously know each

other. He looks back her with the same sense of confusion.

CUT TO:

SIDE SHOT: The woman runs forward and wraps her arms around

him. She seems completely relieved to see him.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's face suddenly seems shocked and in

pain. She steps back.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's stomach is bleeding. She touches it.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The man is holding a knife and wearing black

gloves.

EXT. STREET - DAY

We cut to a shot of the woman wearing a black veil. She is

watching a funeral procession take place. As the hearse

moves past her the man appears behind her and places a

chloroformed cloth over her mouth.

TIME CUT:

FLASHBACK: We cut back to the shot of the car boot. The

hands wearing black gloves closes the boot and the camera

swigs round to reveal the man from the corridor.

TIME CUT:

FLASHFOWARD: We cut back to close up of the man's face.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: We see the woman still clutching her stomach as

she stumbles backwards.

CUT TO:

WIDESHOT: The woman falls to the floor.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: We cut to a ground shot, filmed through a wide

angel lens. The man moves over to her and raises the knife.

He plunges it towards her stomach.

JUMP CUT:

INT. HOSPITAL - DAY

FLASHFOWARD: CLOSE UP: We cut to a shot of a pair of hands

placing a defibrillator down onto the woman's stomach. It

shocks her.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: ECG monitor. The line moves from a frantic pulse

to a flat line.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's eye's open.

CUT TO:

P.O.V: The woman watches as the doctor with the

defibrillator gives up and places it back down on the side.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's eyes as she continues to watch.

CUT TO:

P.O.V: The woman watches as the doctor moves from the left

hand side of the room to the right. Sitting down on the

right hand side is the man she knows from the corridor. The

doctor says a few words to him, which are completely

inaudible.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: The woman's eyes as she continues to watch.

CUT TO:

P.O.V: The man appears to look sad, but as the doctor turns

away he smiles. He looks over towards the woman.

CUT TO:

CLOSE UP: We cut to a close up of the woman's right eye. Itremains open and is now bathed in red light. As she blinks

the light turns white.

FADE OUT.
