Jericho House Speaker Philip Hatcher

March 17, 2011

Phil Hatcher, President of Jericho House, spoke of his desire to help people on the street who have a desire to change addictive behavior. He offers them opportu-nities to receive free medically supervised detoxification with after-detox sober living care focused on building their self-worth, helping to secure the successful lives they were created to have. Phil was accompanied by Carlos L., who lived on the streets for 15 years as an alcoholic. With Phil’s assis-tance through Jericho House, Carlos has been ―clean‖ for year and is in his second semester at Mt. San Ja-cinto College. Rotarian Bill Vincent, Vice President of Student Services at MSJC, shared information about the ―Second Chance‖ Club at the campus to give sup-port to students like Carlos. ** Core Values ** Rotary’s core values represent the guiding principles of the or-ganization’s culture, including what guides members’ priorities and actions within the organization. Values are an increasingly important component in strategic planning because they drive the intent and direction of the organization’s leadership.

***** Diversity ***** We believe Rotary unifies all people internationally behind the ideal of service. We encourage diversity of vocations within our membership and in our activities and service work. A club that reflects its business and professional community is a club with a key to its future.
