Thanks to all of you, especially Laura and her

committee, who contributed to the overwhelming

success of the California Dreamin’ event. The

planning that goes into the fundraiser is consider-

able, more so now than

ever because of the growth of the event. I believe

we had record attendance with well over 400 peo-

ple in the house! Laura will announce some num-

bers to us later, once all the loose ends are tied up

but I believe our net income will be close to last

year’s, a great accomplishment considering the

economy and stories we’ve heard from other

groups. As I told the committee, there are always

some “bugs” that come up but at the end of the

day we always pull it together and it all works out.

The “FUN” factor was again very high and I be-

lieve this helped ticket sales. Our honoree, Dris-

coll’s, stepped up big to support the event. We

met our goal of $9000 for Eric’s project. We raised

a lot of money for charity. And by all reports, we

had a lot of fun doing it. I’m proud to be a member

of The Rotary Club of Santa Maria, and you should

be to.

Editor’s Note: I have finally learned how to do “imbedded hot links.” In the past you would see the full URL address to the Website. Now you will see verbiage such as “The Rotary Club of Santa Maria” which you can know is a hot link as your cursor will turn into a little hand as you hover over the link. In addition “links” are usually blue in color and underlined. I

hope this makes your reading of The Rotator, on line, more enjoyable and rewarding.
