RBLR 1000 Charity Ride.
Detailed Information for the 2019 RBLR1000
Saturday 15th June 2019
This is a sponsored long-distance motorcycle ride to
raise money for the Royal British Legion's Poppy
Appeal. The event has been running since 2009 and
has always had well over 100 riders taking part
every year. You don't all ride together, you choose
which route to ride and either ride on your own, or
with friends.
All routes start and finish in one central location
near Leeds in Yorkshire on a Saturday near to the
Summer Solstice, meaning that apart from a few
hours, the whole route can be ridden in daylight. If
you complete a 1000-mile route in less than 24
hours, you'll automatically become a member of the
Iron Butt Association.

this event is free with free parking and a free bus

The Lancaster had been confirmed to perform at fly
past and we are hopeful that the issues with the

In 1943 a Lancaster aircraft crashed in a field at

One member of the crew was recovered and he is
buried in Scotland....
The aircraft and men are buried where they fell; the
ground was too marshy to allow any recovery.

One of the County's biggest firework displays, and a

Feel the atmosphere of a WW2 airfield at night.
This year’s fireworks will see the culmination of
many years’ experience here at the Centre giving us
the best display we have ever had. Not only will
you be able to see the fireworks you will also be
able to feel their power as they explode and cascade
in the skies over this very historic location.
This is possibly our best value event as you can join
us for 11 hours experiencing the Lancaster taxy runs
at day and night, enjoy a hog roast, play with glow
sticks, watch a WW2 German Searchlight and most
importantly build memories for years to come with
the biggest firework display at the Centre.

SERVICES
Halo Smart Protect is a unique treatment system developed and supplied by All Year Biker.
We all know winter road salt is a killer for bikes, but here are a few things you might not be aware of:
During the rest of the year environmental fall-out, sea spray and even animal waste can cause
corrosion.
In certain conditions animal waste on the roads can be up to 3 times more corrosive than road salt.
Washing alone will not prevent corrosion, in fact trapped cleaning water can often start the process.
Corrosion rarely ‘starts’ where you can see it but once established it can spread alarmingly fast.
There is now a Lincolnshire based Operative, so you can have your bike treated without having to travel
miles. Trevor Bridgwood (Riders Branch Member) is based just outside Lincoln and covers LN, DN and
some NG postcodes. If you are interested in getting your bike protected, then give me a call. For more
information, visit the All Year Biker Facebook page at www.facebook.com/allyearbiker
