he Queen of rockabilly is set to wow audiences when she visits the Royal Theatre this Christmas. No stranger to Mayo, Imelda has performed many sold out shows in the past and her new single ‘Tears of Clew Bay’ is a colloboration with Mayo’s ‘Clew Bay Pipe Band’, which was origionally a poem written by May’s bassist Al Gare after being inspired by the beauty of Croagh Patrick and Westport. The show in two words - Christmas Cracker!

he new Mayo Convention Centre is the umbrella brand that encompasses the meeting and accommodation facilities onsite at the Royal Quarter and the accommodation centres close by. Already there has been huge interest from both national and international organisations to host their conventions at the centre. Take a seat - we’ve got 2500!

Enjoy a relaxing beverage in the front bar, recently tastefully decorated. The venue is ideal for meetings and get-togethers for smaller groups. The name of the bar alludes to the soprano Margaret Burke Sheridan, who was affecetionatley know as ‘Maggie from Mayo’. Born in Castlebar, 1889, Margaret was famous worldwide, and for many years she scaled the heights of the operatic world.

The popular Ruby Room is an intimate performance and function space, where audiences feel they are part of the act - the recently redecorated space can seat 200 and a series of unique live performances is planned for the coming months.

4$5''#%&"65%,$$!%,)$7)'6 xciting new developments at the Royal Quarter has seen the refurbishment of the bedrooms at the TF Royal Hotel, and the reopening of the Johnny Cash suite. Johnny Cash played the Royal Theatre some years back and stayed with his entrouage at the hotel. The newly refurbished bedroom features a free-

star hotel. The décor throughout is luxurious and modern, with each bedroom having a slightly different take, but all blending harmoniously to afford the visitor a very positive experience. The hotel has the dining and entertainment facilities of the Café Bar, and a newly refurbished restaurant, and is right next to the theatre. The hotel compliments the existing onsite award winning four-star Harlequin Hotel.

Visitors to the theatre can park in a number of different areas. Opposite Mayo General Hospital and GMIT, there is a large surface carpark to the left of the theatre, and also parking along the front of the Café Bar and TF Royal Hotel. Pay and display parking charges have been introduced recently and contributions from car parking are used to

programme of events at the theatre.

Patrons can get a refund on their parking charge of up to !3, when producing a receipt of purchase.

Visitors can also park in the multi-story carpark facility. During Christmas trading, the Royal Quarter will donate funds to Castlebar Lions Club,

charities.

Parking is also available at Shaw’s and Boots surface carparks.
