OTTAWA BOUND Congratulations to Jelly Pei (Grade 12)! She has been invited to attend the Forum for Young Canadians in Ottawa during Spring Break. SCHOLASTIC BOOKFAIR Thank you to everyone in our community who supported our Scholastic Book Fair. Parent and student volunteers were a huge asset during the event which raised $1333.67 in books to enhance our library resource inventory.
YEARBOOKS ON SALE Treasure the memories by placing your order today for yearbooks. Junior School yearbooks are $35 before May 1 and Senior School yearbooks are $65 before March 18. After Spring Break, Senior School yearbooks will be $70 until May 1.
ARTIST VISIT Students in Grade 5 and Art 10-12 were excited to welcome local Salish artist Lambert Goldsmith to class recently. Mr. Goldsmith’s visit, along with a field trip to the Cowichan River Hatchery, taught students about indigenous plants, salmon conservation and First Nation's traditions. What a fun way to prepare for participation in an exciting local public art mural project!

Creating Healthy Family Boundaries with Dr. Allison Rees
Winning Co-Operation with Effective Communication
Date: Monday, May 2, 2016 Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm Location: The Learning Centre, Queen Margaret’s School Cost: FREE RSVP: [email protected] (Seats are limited, please register early to avoid disappointment.)
We invite QMS Parents and Guardians to a parenting workshop. Dr. Rees will focus on family boundaries and how these invisible lines can separate us or bring us together. Dr. Rees believes that when we take over our children’s responsibilities, we are crossing specific boundaries and interfering with their learning. Don’t let personal fears interfere with your parenting, depriving our kids of taking normal, healthy risks. How do we find balance? How do we avoid over-indulging? How can we secure the true meaning of respect in our families which really means having boundary clarity? We invite you to explore these questions with Dr. Rees and other QMS parents.
