Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,

It still feels like yesterday we rang in a new year and decade.

It has been an energizing first couple of months at Deep

Creek Baptist Church in 2020. Our youth helped lead a great luncheon for

Compassion Care Center on January 19. We hade a very

meaningful Debt Elimination Service on January 26. Our

numbers has been rising in Sunday School and have had

several guests come and worship with us on Sunday mornings.

UPWARD has been going well and what a great UPWARD Sunday we had

February 23 getting to welcome our UPWARD

families to our worship service. Our children did a great job with

a Valentine’s mission project and spending time with the

residents at Yadkin Nursing Center on February 16. Our Youth

enjoyed an exciting time at their Super Bowl party and

attending the Winter Jam Concert in Greensboro in February.

Our Wednesday evenings resume on March 4. Please make plans to not only come enjoy a

scrumptious meal at 6:00 pm but to also take part in one of the our discipleship opportunities

for children, youth, and adults from 6:30–7:30 pm.

Parents, I really encourage you to take advantage of the Parenting

Conference that Maplewood Baptist is graciously hosting. Tara and I

will attend and we are excited about conversations to come from this

conference and how God can use this to begin strengthening our

village as parents striving to raise our children in the ways of the Lord together here at Deep

Creek Baptist Church.

As we begin to see the leaves turn green and flowers bloom in

March let us not miss out on how God is working in and around us.

I pray we can keep this wonderful momentum God has blessed our

congregation with so far this year throughout March as we

anticipate getting to celebrate Easter in April.

And let us consider how we may spur

each other on toward love and good

deeds. Hebrews 10:24 $1,869.00 Collected

Thank You Deep Creek Baptist!

Who are the Glory Girls? The Glory Girls are a group of mission-minded women who want to serve the Lord first, the church, and

the community. We have done that this past year by buying gift cards for, and visiting our shut-ins,

preparing meals, and donating to the New Horizons Adult Day Care. We also hosted Trunk or Treat,

helped our children make gingerbread houses, and participated in the Christmas caroling.

None of this could have been accomplished without Deep Creek’s church members helping whenever

there was a need. We are very grateful for your support. We are always looking for new members and

new ideas. Our group meets at 6:00 pm the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the lower classroom at

church.

Because of the increase in events the church is hosting, we want to make sure everyone volunteering

knows what is needed. Therefore, procedures for church-wide events are as follows:

1. All tables need to be set up because our church-wide events are well attended.

2. Those in charge of the event should make sure food, utensils, and salt and pepper are out and

ready to serve immediately following the morning worship service. During the meal please be sure

the drink window is staffed to assist people.

3. A Sunday School class will be assigned to help with clean-up.

4. Cleaning the fellowship hall includes: clean all tables, tables not needed for weekly activities

should be put away, all trash needs to be put out.

5. The kitchen should be left clean with all dishes and utensils put away in proper locations.

Thank you for helping us all be great stewards of the facilities God has blessed us with. We look forward

to a great year serving alongside one another. If you have any questions about the Glory Girls, or ways

you can assist with an event this year, please contact Ann Ray.

Thank you to

all who came to the Super Bowl party and

Winter Jam concert in February. It was great

to hang out and deepen our relationships with

one another.

In March, we will pack backpacks for our

ministry partner Courtney Elementary. Join us

at the parsonage at 5:30 pm Wednesdays in

March before dinner and our group time.

Thank you to those who will help serve food

and watch kids at the Compassion Care

fundraiser on Tuesday, March 3.

Parents, I hope you will take advantage of the

Parenting Conference on Saturday, March 14,

at Maplewood Baptist. That will be a great

time together. See details below.

Please make plans to help with our church

workday on Saturday, March 28.

We are also making plans to go see a W-S

Thunderbird hockey game on Sunday, March

29. Watch for more details soon.

I pray that God continues to encourage and

strengthen your faith as you show God’s love

at school and with your friends...Kayla

Looking UPWARD

Mark 9:36-37

And he took a child and put him in the midst

of them and taking him in his arms, he said to

them, “Whoever receives one such child in my

name receives me, and whoever receives me,

receives not me but him who sent me.”

Lord, we thank you for giving us the

opportunity to teach and share through the

UPWARD Ministry. From this experience not

only do we reach children but their parents,

grandparents, and friends to tell them of

your glory.

The gym becomes our church and the

coaches are your disciples. Our youth as

Devotion Leaders, and Halftime Volunteers

share Your Word. As we reflect on this

season and this year’s UPWARD Sunday, we

are so overwhelmed by the Goodness of Your

Ministry.

Amen
