Movie Review: The Jungle Book Reviewer: Ammon O.The Jungle Book is really good . The movie is not as good as the book, but it is still good. It is about a boy named Mowgli . In the book he is taken in by wolves. A tiger named Shere Khan wants to eat him because the boys father wounded him, but the wolves take him to the council rock where a bear named Baloo says he should be taken in by the pack and a panther named Bagheera gives the wolves food so they will take him in. In the movie Bragheera adopts Mowgli and through both the movie and the book Shere Khan is trying to get Mowgli’s blood. Bhageera and the wolves agree that Mowgli should go live with men. What I like about the movie was the end when Mowgli brought the red flower or fire into the forest. Sparks fall from his torch lighting the jungle ablaze. Shere Khan and Mowgli end up in a tree. Only one will live. To find out who watch the movie. In the book Mewgli brings one of his wolf brothers into the man village and they start a stampede of buffalo. Shere Khan is trampled when Mowgli lures him into the stampede. I give the Jungle Book movie four out of five stars and the book five out of five stars.

Sports Report: Track and Field Interviewer: Isabella P.Photographer: Isabella M.Reporter: Sophie N.

Track and Field, a harsh sport in which people or kids in our case run or sprint. Meet Alexa G, 5th grade student, who has dedicated 2 years of her school days running for the SMCES track and field team. Coached by Ms. Nuzz, fist grade teacher and dedicated marathon runner. Alexa, with the help of Ms. Nuzz was able to train for the one race she will participate in… the 200 meter. That race is very hard and tiring, but with all the training and experience Alexa has, she has this in the bag.

To prepare for this race the training is long and tiresome. Every day from 3:00 to 5:00 Alexa and the other Track and field members will run long jogs, and even up and down the stairs. Personally, Alexa best likes to sprint in order to exercise, and is not a big fan of fartlex. But all in all it’s all just a fun way to get a little exercise and have fun with your friends.

Talent Show Interviewer: Madeline C.Photographer: Anna M.Reporter: Monica T.

Every one has different talents, and the perfect place to express them is the annual Talent Show. Claire who is in kindergarten made the talent show for her second year in a row. Last year she played the violin, and she was the first TKer ever to make it into the talent show.

This year, Claire is going to do a dance performance as a mini Rockette. Her costume is white with a feather trim. Her favorite type of dance is jazz, but she also knows tap and ballet. Claire is really excited to perform again, and hopes that people will enjoy her performance. She practices two times a week, and has been dancing for a least one year. We all look forward to see her grand performance!!
