Our woods come from sustainable, rapidly renew-able European forests. Our foresters ensure that we use only the appropriate timbers which meet the standards of proper forestry management. We treat and craft them in a way we have always cherished: in a natural way.
For centuries the forest has always been a mys-tery. Wild and untamed as it is, and will continue to be, it represents nature in its purest form. It covers one third of the earth. The forest biome must at all costs be preserved. While we try to tame it, to discover its rich resources and pre-cious woods, it must be treated with the greatest respect and reverence. Art/Deco and its parent company Lambert & Company, are well aware of the need to treat forests well and have signed in and endorse fully the worldwide and independent PEFC-program, which certifies that we as an industry guarantee our woods come from sustain-able and environmentally protected forests.
Moreover, Art/Deco thinks of its products in a highly creative way. We associate them with the place where they come from: nature. We are convinced with the idea that we have to respect Nature’s gifts. Wood floors are a gift from nature at it’s grandest. Its tactile, sensorial surfaces. Its splendid, rich colours, nature-inspired hues.

Con el aumento de la demanda de productos respetuosos del medioambiente, Art/Déco está en una posición excelente: nuestros parquets son una opción lujosa y exclusiva que demuestra que el estilo y el amor por la naturaleza pueden ir de la mano. Seguimos el rastro de la naturaleza.
Nuestras maderas provienen de bosques Euro-peos, sostenibles y que se renuevan rápidamente. Los guardabosques se aseguran que sólo usemos las maderas apropiadas que cumplan con los standards que marca el reglamento forestal. Los tratamos como hemos hecho siempre de una manera artesana y natural.
Durante siglos los bosques han sido un misterio. Salvajes e indomesticables como son y deben continuar siendo. Representan la naturaleza en su estado puro. Cubren una tercera parte de la tierra. El ecosistema de los bosques debe ser preserva-do a toda costa, mientras intentamos descubrir sus recursos y maderas preciosas. Debe ser trata-do con el mayor respeto. Art/Déco y su compañía madre Lambert Company son muy conscientes de la necesidad de tratar bien los bosques y han firmado un contrato de adhesión con el programa independiente PEFC, que certifica que las ma-deras que suministramos proceden de bosques sostenibles.
Además Art/Déco piensa en sus productos de una manera creativa. Los asociamos con el lugar del cual proceden, la naturaleza. Nosotros estamos convencidos de que tenemos que aprovechar los regalos que nos ofrece la naturaleza. Los suelos de madera son un regalo que ésta nos ofrece; y su superficie, tan agradable para los sentidos, sus esplendor y su riqueza de colores, inspira a la humanidad.

But with all these beautiful qualities in mind, we also think of architecture’s realm, it’s needs and possibilities. We think of wood floors and parquets as the most simple and stylish way to accommo-date a lifestyle that respects nature and mankind’s grandeur. We think of spaces that are made of surfaces that have a maximum sensorial quality.
Art/Deco’s designers and craftsmen do not have an easy task, creating something new and demanding amidst well-approved solutions. We work hard to find new and old ways to achieve it. Obstacles increase the possibility of making something. The conceptualization of a new parquet is not a self-expression session, but a continuous ‘flow’ or ‘momentum’ between “Don’t know what you want” and “Know what you don’t want”.
Each one of our board floors or parquets is an exercise in the choice of wood, grain patterns, surface treatments and colour shades.

Nuestros diseñadores y artesanos no tienen una tarea fácil, crear algo nuevo que satisfaga las nuevas tendencias y a la vez respete la sostenibi-lidad medioambiental. Trabajamos muy duramen-te para conseguirlo, pero los obstáculos son sólo una motivación mas para nosotros.La creación de un nuevo parquet se consigue con un flujo continuo de ideas. “No sabemos lo que queréis ” pero si “Lo que no queréis”.
Cada uno de nuestros parquets se compone de una exhaustiva selección de las maderas y de los diseños, tratamientos de estas maderas y nuevas superficies.

Without the memory of the past, there is no bright future. The grandeur of beautiful wooden floors does not date from yesterday. The Renaissance in Europe, The Baroque...certainly have shown examples of incredibly splendid parquet. The royal and princely courts, the castles, the houses of the rich, have had their moments of attachment to parquet and wooden floors.
And it is precisely the memory of these that keeps us pursuing in the search of beautiful environ-ments and our contribution to it.
Contemporary architecture has not forgotten the nostalgia for beautiful surfaces. The new surfaces that we imagine today go back to those periods of grandeur, when parquetry was genius.
Our perspective of beauty in the future depends on the courage with which we will create incomparable ambiance, imaginative surfaces.

Sin mirar al pasado no se puede conseguir un futuro brillante. La grandiosidad y belleza de los parquets viene de muy antiguo. En la época rena-centista, en la barroca … ya se pueden encontrar hermosos suelos de madera.En las principales cortes Reales, en los castillos, en las casas de gente adinerada ….
Y es precisamente en memoria de este pasado que queremos contribuir en la búsqueda de nue-vos y bonitos entornos.
La arquitectura recuerda con nostalgia esas boni-tas superficies, y nuestra imaginación retrocede hasta tiempos pasados para crear nuevos dise-ños. Tiempos en que los suelos de madera eran considerados arte.

LA SUTIL BELLEZA DEL “HERRINGBONE” Y DEL “CHEVRON”
‘Herringbone’ patterned floors is a classic European parquet style that is now considered to be a very contemporary and elegant look. It is intricate and beautiful. It is comprised of right angles and it can look like a woven basket. The rows are oriented in opposition to each other. This causes the slanted lines to form a dense pattern of chevrons. Each slant meets up at the end with a slant positioned in the opposite direction. ‘Chevron’ equally is a beautiful parquet pattern: but more interesting in the case of important surfaces.
El dibujo “Herringbone” es de un estilo Europeo clásico, hoy en día considerado muy contemporá-neo y elegante. Es complicado y hermoso.Está compuesto por ángulos rectos y podría pare-cerse al entramado de una cesta de bambú. Las hileras que lo componen están orientadas unas contra otras. Esto forma unas líneas sesgadas que confieren al panel su dibujo en espiga.
THE SUPERB BEAUTYOF THE CLASSICWOOD PANELS
Entre los más conocidos tipos de parquet se encuentra indiscutiblemente el panel “Versai-lles”. Obviamente está presente en el palacio de Versailles, pero este panel también es frecuente encontrarlo en otros palacios y casas burguesas. Gracias a las publicaciones de Roubo de Maze-rolles, un ebanista del siglo XVIII, sabemos como se hace este panel. Su trabajo más importante es: “L’Art de la Menuiserie” (1769).
Among the most famous types of parquet floor-ing, the Versailles panel would be the first to come in mind. Obviously prevalent in the prestigious Château de Versailles, the Versailles panel has been also largely used in a lot of other castles and bourgeois houses. Roubo de Mazerolles, a cabinetmaker of the 18th century, has codified the making of those panels to a large extent. His major work is “L’Art de la Menuiserie” (1769).

THE SENSUALITYOF METALISED PARQUET Art/Deco’s metalised floors are made of a thin lay-er of pure metal on a wooden structured surface. After the metal is applied we sand and polish the surface several times to make it shiny and give it its remarkable glossy aspect, while the wood pattern shows through. It is not a paint, it is an application of pure metal in cold and liquid form by a patented process. It does not conduct elec-tricity and is non-galvanic. It can easily be cleaned and it is foot traffic resistant. The magnificent effect of this floor is beyondimagination.
Los parquets metalizados Art/Déco están cubier-tos por una fina capa de metal en su superficie. Después el metal se lija y se pule la superficie varias veces para darle ese aspecto brillante que le caracteriza, consiguiendo además conservar el auténtico veteado de la madera noble del roble. No es una pintura es una aplicación de metal puro en frío y en forma líquida mediante un proceso patentado. No es conductor de la electricidad, ni es galvánico. Se puede limpiar fácilmente y es muy resistente.El magnífico aspecto de este suelo va mas allá de nuestra imaginación.
