STOP HUNGER NOW’S VISION: A world without hunger. STOP HUNGER NOW’S MISSION: To end hunger in our lifetime by providing food
and life-saving aid to the world's most vulnerable and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources. On THIS Friday, October 3rd we will be packaging 10,000 meals to help Stop Hunger Now move closer to a world without hunger. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. – sharp – we need a minimum of 50 volunteers to help us package meals in the Parish Hall in less than an hour and a half (volunteers at our last event packaged 10,018 meals in 57 minutes!) ALL ages are invited to participate. Please sign up by calling the church office so we know how many volunteers we will have. If you can help setup and/or bring a dessert, please call Kathy Wilson 404-790-4831.
We can make a difference in the lives of those who know hunger.

CONFIRMATION
43 Confirmands and the Confirmation Lay Leadership Team have met weekly and are discovering what it
means as sinners to find forgiveness and grace through Jesus Christ! On September 28, the
Confirmands went to Rockbridge in Peachtree City to learn team-building skills. As the body of Christ, working together is critical and the lessons they
learned were fun and formative! Encourage and pray for the Confirmands and leaders as they continue their journey of discovering what it means to be a Christian
and live as Christ would have us live.
NOTE: There will be NO Confirmation this Sunday, October 5th due to Night of Worship (come worship
with us!) or on October 12th (holiday weekend).
We will resume on October 19th.

SUNDAY MORNINGS (SCHOOL & J.A.M.)
This month, the preschoolers are discovering the beginning of God’s people’s history as they study
Abraham & Sarah, Isaac, Jacob & Esau, and Jacob’s Ladder. Kindergarteners through 4th
graders continue their study of the Fruits of the Spirit, which mirrors the sermon series taking place weekly in worship. October lessons will
focus on faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
J.A.M. is an assembly time for 4-year-olds to 2nd graders during worship. A lesson will be provided for volunteers which will teach a life lesson for the
children as they form their beliefs.
If you would like to serve through teaching or assisting a teacher in Sunday School or J.A.M.,
please register on Volunteer Spot (volunteerspot.com) so that Maria Bowers may
contact you with service reminders and help you as you prepare to teach the assigned lesson. You
may register as a Sunday School or J.A.M. volunteer at http://vols.pt/XsVhWT by
following the prompts. Maria will email you in advance of each lesson!
THANK YOU for volunteering to work with the children of Newnan FUMC!
