Volunteer of the MonthDecember 2008Byron TrowbridgeByron Trowbridge was born on June 23, 1956 in Williston to Helen and Roland (Ron) Trowbridge.

He has an older sister, Brenda Beyer, and older brother, Curtis. He attended Wilkinson School,Jr. High, and graduated from Williston High School in 1974.

Byron worked as an orderly at Mercy Hospital until he entered the US Army in 1975. Heserved at Fort Ord in CA, Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio TX, worked as a medic at FitzSimmons Medial Center in Aurora CO and was discharged from Fort Carson CO in May 1978.

He also worked in carpentry and in the Oil Fields until attending UND Williston where hegraduated from construction in 1985. Byron also worked as a school custodian, did constructionand worked the oil patch until he was hired as a Mail Carrier for the Post Office.

He enjoys gardening and sharing his produce with others. He likes to hunt, fish, tan hides,help out at his cousin's farm and has made (crochet) many afghans. He helps the Faith UnitedMethodist Church with their corned beef and cabbage dinners. He is also a member of theAmerican Legion. He looks forward to retirement and more hunting and fishing --- and moregardening.

We, at the center really appreciate all of the produce Byron brings us from his garden everyyear. For this reason we honor Byron Trowbridge as our First National Bank/Trust and HeritageCenter December Volunteer of the Month!
