School of Automobile and Manufacturing

The automobile gave us freedom to move.It 's difficult to make predict ions, especially about the future of engineering technology as there is disruption in periodic manner. Automobile is one of them. Nothing is perfect. The car is no exception. But there has never been a man-made product that has changed the way the entire world lives so thoroughly as the automobile. The first production car, Benz Velo, started cruising at the velocity of 20 km/h in 1894 and recently The Hennessey Venom F5 car has touched the speed of 435 km/h shows the fearless motion with unstoppable advancement of technology. The first known electric car was built in 1837 but not able to recognise it's reality due to lack of generating sufficient power against internal combustion engine. Hybrid electric vehicle is being pitched in for promising an environmentally friendly image but could not able to take off due to lack of fuel efficiency. After years outside the limelight, the energy crisis, lower emissions with the ultimate goal being a move to zero-emissions vehicle, the electric vehicles are the future of mobility. There is no choice but driverless vehicles are going to become an increasingly important cog in 21st century living. As technology moves at a rapid pace, the world's biggest companies are looking to develop and deploy increasingly sophisticated self-driving technology. Autonomous vehicles will not only change the way we get around our cities but their economic impact will also be significant. The U.K. government, for instance, has said that the driverless technology market is set to be worth as much as £50 billion to the economy by 2035. The bottom line of the Automobile industry is the collapse of the Internal-Combustion Vehicle and Oil Industries rethinking of the transportation. The future automobile will be equipped with driver override system, biometric vehicle access, comprehensive tracking, active window display, remote vehicle shutdown, active health monitoring, smart personalized car marketing, reconfigurable body panels, future batteries – change in a seconds.Activity in School of Automobile and Manufacturing Engineering

School of Interdisciplinary Sciences

To reap the motto of Symbios is Foundation - 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' – in its students, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences focuses on imbibing Life Skills training on compulsory basis to its students. Because like James Truslow Adams put it – “There are obviously two educations. One should teach us how to make a living and the other how to live.”So, under the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences, the university involves the teaching and training of subjects that are the fundamental building blocks of all the courses. For example, training in English language, Communication and Soft Skills, Yoga and meditation etcetera. But the major focus of the school is on imparting Life-Skills education. This is also because after quite a bit of discussions with people from industry and academics it was found out that what makes a person incompetent for surviving in a job is not his lack of subject knowledge but a lack of the ability of dealing with real life issues that one faces at the job. These involve interpersonal problems with colleagues, superiors and subordinates, in addition to the problems that one faces with his own skills in time management, decision making and critical thinking and more. Thus to make an industry ready professional in the real sense of the word – we at Interdisciplinary Sciences department in Symbiosis, Indore try to expose and train the students in the real life problems they would face forever in their life – whether they become an employee or an employer.

Symbiosis University of Applied

Sciences is India's first skilled based

university and being First ever batch

of this university is one of the special

experience. Being students of its first

batch we literally saw this university

getting build up in front of us and

still seeing it but the opportunity we

are getting and things we are

learning here are the one which is

actually going to help us to succeed like interpersonal

real life skills and I am not talking about academics we

are getting it alright and can get from anywhere but it's

about being involved with our university in almost

everything whether as in for committees, seminars or

fest. The thing is that this university acknowledges its

student and help us not only getting good grades so

that we can get a job but being an entrepreneur doing

something of own. The crowd in this university well

we all can connect and work together to make this

university better it doesn't matter whether you are

from BBA , MBA , CSIT or Automobile our faculty

being inspirational and supportive.

In tune with the spirit of Symbiosis University of skilling and multifaceted development of the students, several steps have been initiated this year. The New Year has seen the light of student committees being constituted for sports and cultural activities. The Editorial Committee is working towards honing the literary skills of the students. Entrepreneurship Cell has been constituted to promote the essence of entrepreneurship amongst students. The Academic Committee intends to uplift the academic standards of the students and resolve academic issues of the students. Students are also members of Women Cell and Anti Ragging Committees which intend

to make the campus more congenial. There are seven Clubs that have been initiated in order to offer a varied platform for learning. These include Robotics Club; CSI Club; SAE Club; Retail Club; Finance Club; Literary Club and Photography Club.

S U A S h a s p r o v i d e d a n atmosphere for me to develop as a p e r s o n , s t u d e n t a n d a management professional. I have been given an opportunity to execute my ideas that I have dreamed of for many years. My work ethics have strengthened and I have embraced many healthy habits in my life such as watching ted talks, motivational videos, reading books and the list goes on.

I am AYUSH and the reason for choosing retail was to avoid study pressure, but instead SUAS headed me to read more books to participate more in entrepreneurial adventures. I ended up jumping out of my comfort zone defeating my fear of public speaking, meetings and all other human skills. Retail is really an ocean and they skills us to sharks of it.

I Joined Symbiosis University of Applied Science's first batch and am pursuing a course in BBA Retail Management. I have seen the university grow through the leaps and bounds and it has been an amazing experience. The course is designed to give practical industry insights and enhance learnings without putting much burden and pressure.

Testimonial

To be a Engineer in making, a 'skilled university' has been the most attractive thing for me about SUAS. It gives us an edge to fight the competitive outer world. SUAS has provided us with opportunities to intern in companies from the very first year of our degree and also, frequent industrial visits and hands-on experience give us exposure to reality of industrial scenario and it's banes. We're also striving to proceed with the manufacturing of a vehicle for some esteemed competitive events. This university has provided us with a lot of opportunities that help to get on with a very successful career ahead.

Avani ZingadeB.Tech-AU

2nd year

The reason I chose Symbiosis Indore is due to the skill based practical applications it offers apart from the regular Indian colleges. The teaching faculty here is very experienced and knowledgeable not just in their respective fields but have industry experience which is eventually passed onto us. SUAS also gave me the opportunity to get competitive exposure on robotics and even in the esteemed SAE-BAJA competition. The university has clubs for each discipline, ex. Robotics, Photography, Literary and etc. Although it is a budding institute, the University offers many sports activities and competitions alongside academic curriculum. Additionally specialized imported machinery and equipment provide a better “hands-on” approach which no other college in the city could get hold of.
