the snake's prey
DESCRIPTION
This is a children's poem that I wrote a few months ago, when I was working with a year 8 class looking at animal poetry.TRANSCRIPT
Thesnake’sprey
Slithering snakes sliding along
Wriggle forwards, body long
Zig zag waves along the caves
Looking for its prey
Eyes shining silently brood
Oval shapes looking for food
Glass beads sees, busy like bees,
The mouse that is his prey
Tongue slides out to test the air
Moving all around his lair
Flicking out, the air to scout,
As he targets his busy prey
Moving fast to catch his lunch
Fangs sinking, hear a crunch
Jaws wide for food to slide
As he swallows down his prey
