I am in the classroom,
in the window there is a
bird's nest. The nest is
made up of grass, plants,
rope, paper, and all kind
of stuff.
One day, at the begin-
ning of the story, we ar-
rived to the class at 8:30,
and the nest was broken.
But the next day, the
bird was working to
made the nest again. On
the 17th of May, 2010, the
bird layed its first egg,
the blue one.
The next day, it put its
second egg, then it has
been sitted up.
The next day, people saw one egg in
the other window. We caught the egg
and put it back in the nest of the other
window.
All the students from 2º of ESO A
have decided the bird's name. It's name
is Franky.

Last April we went to
Santa Susana with the stu-
dents of Getafe and Mont-
cada i Rexac, in order to do
the English week, a trip or-
ganized by the Bilingual
Project.
The teachers were Irish, so
we always had to speak Eng-
lish, because they didn't un-
derstand Spanish (Spanish
to them sounded like
bla, bla, bla) At first, it was so
difficult, but later we could
understand all they said.
We went to Santa Susana
by bus. It was quite boring
because it was so far.
When we arrived, we met
the monitors. They were
pretty kind, but we were
scared when we saw that
they only spoke English.
What could we do?
We thought that we would-
n’t survive!
STORIES FROM SANTA SUSANA
PAGE 2 THE SNOW H ILL FANZINE
We did a lot of activities:
riding horses, climbing, ti-
rolina, kayaking, obstacle
track, bowing, rifle shot,
beach games, and sports.
There were also a pool,
ping-pong tables and tennis
courts, to use in our free
time.
Our favourite activity was
the tirolina (zip wire). It was
amazing!
The activity we liked the
least was riding horses, it
was the first time that we
did it, and some horses were
crazy.
The food was DELI-
CIOUS. We could repeat
whenever we liked.
The waiters were rather
kind, although they thought
that we had stolen some ice-
cream, and one of them
said: You don't respect my
At night, we went to the
disco. Everybody danced,
except Javi (he was busy
with his computer), and
Samanta.
Later, we returned to the
bungalows, to open Loly's
pension, the best bungalow
of the camp.
We had shows every night
( concerts of Miriam - the
pension was filled!)
We made a lot of friends,
and some students fell in
love, but that’s another
story.
The last day, we were very
sad, but we hope to see them
again!
In conclusion, this trip was
fantastic, we had fun all the
trip and we learnt a lot of
English! We want to repeat
next year!
Our trip to Santa Susana
Raluca and Vanessa 4º ESO
On this trip we learned a lot of Eng-
lish. We liked the activities we did very
much.
I liked the monitors very very much
because they taught us a lot of new
things and new words in English.
We rode a horse, we played baseball,
football and many games and we
climbed. At night, we went to the disco
and we had fun.
During our free time, we went to Car-
refour and we bought a lot of food to eat
at night. We did theater and it was very
funny.

Bach-A and 3 ESO-A visited the
Astronomical Center Hispanic
German (CAHA), located 2,168
meters above sea level.
This observatory has 4 tele-
scopes, of which, one of them
the second biggest in Europe. It
has a diameter of 3.5 meters.
When arriving at the observa-
tory they took us to a room and
they taught with photographs
and stow data, constellations,
nebulas and galaxies taken with
the four telescopes.
Later, they showed us the op-
impression and admired
the act that we visited
one of the best observa-
tories on the world.

PÁGINA 3 VOLUME 1 , NO . 2
By Silvia Patricia 4º ESO
We arrived on Monday, April 19th, and we lodged in
bungalows of three to four people. In the afternoon we
did physical activities, such as climbing.
The other days we did a lot of funny activities as rid-
ing horses, build a raft, kayak, tirolina, search for a
treasure, archery, volleyball,
The best activity was riding
horses. The worst part was the
project, it was an activity in which
we did writing activities to prepare
a wedding where each one had a
role, that was so boring!
In the evenings we rested in the
bungalows with our friends.
We played cards, ate candies and
sweets, we talked about the day, we
told jokes and drank sodas.
In conclusion, the trip of Santa
Susana was incredible, amazing
and unforgettable!
I never will forget the others stu-
dents, the monitors and in general
the trip.

An American Breakfast...
Americans usually eat a big breakfast early in the morn-
ing, between 7 to 9. Then around 11 or 12 Americans
eat lunch, usually when you are eating your breakfast.
Below are some favorite breakfast foods for many
Americans.
Pancakes: First adapted by the French from China and Nepal in the 12 century by Crusaders. Americans then took this recipe and used it themselves. Eggs and Bacon: usually eaten with toast and a cup of coffee. Cereal is another big part of American breakfast. The first modern cereal was invented by vegetarians in the 1860's in Michigan. After this invention it was spread across the U.S. The first cereal trademark was created in 1877 and it was the Quaker Oats man.
