We joyfully welcome into our faith community those children who were baptized last weekend! Congratulations to them and their families: Romy Jean Cloutier, Wesley Andrew Paskal, Chole Xia Rengal, and Caroline Koh Song.

Funerals - We mourn the passing of and pray for the repose of the soul of Deacon John Capomaccio for whom a funeral service was held out of St. Augustine Parish last week.

Celebrating the Sacraments

Summer begins this week! Beginning Monday, June 17th, the parish office

hours will be: Monday-Thursday 8:45 AM - 2:30 PM

closed on Fridays.

Happy Father's Day to All the Dads of our Parish!!

A Prayer for Fathers

God our Father, In your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless those

fathers who have taken upon themselves the responsibility of parenting. Bless those who have lost a spouse to death, separation or divorce, and who are parenting their children

alone. Strengthen all dads by your love that they may become the loving, caring persons they are meant to be.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Reflection on the Sunday Gospel

The Trinity declares that relationships are at the very center of God. We believe that the Father, Son, and Spirit are in full communion, communication, and relationship with each other at all times, in all places. To know Jesus is to know the Father and the Spirit and vice versa. They are one. This special relationship indicates to us that, to be like the God we profess every Sunday is to commit ourselves to our relationships, in all their varieties.

The Father invites us into this loving relationship with Him, Jesus, and the Spirit. What is especially consoling about this is that we are the only world religion that believes our God took on human flesh. So through Jesus' life, teaching, compassion, and sacrificial love we not only discover who he is, but, at one and the same time, we find out what God and the Spirit are like.

Some people think themselves unworthy of such an invitation. Others argue that they have to be a better person to deserve such an offer. While both of these responses to God's invitation are understandable, they fail to take into account that in Jesus we have been made worthy of God's love and if we are waiting to get to a certain level of goodness to deserve God's love, we will wait forever. God invites us into the compassionate embrace of the Trinity where we are and as we are, so that we can become all that God knows we can be. We don't have to get good to get God. We have to get God before we can get good.

We pray for those who are ill and pained in body, heart and mind, especially remembering Bob Kwolyk, Jack Gerard, and Matt Stroika. We commend to our Divine Lord all of our aged people and those residing in nursing homes.

Beginning in July, the procedure for our "sick" list - the list of those individuals for whom we are offering specific prayers of healing - will be adjusted. Anyone who wishes to add themselves or a family member to the list, should please call the parish office at 978-475-0050. The names of the individual will be included in the bulletin until the individual or family member requests that it be removed. The Universal Prayer will include a general petition at Masses for all those in our community in need of healing, thus turning the focus to all in need. It is our hope that this minor change will eliminate some long-standing issues of confusion regarding the procedure, mispronunciations, and inadvertent inclusion or exclusion of names.

P rayer for Our Troops Around the World

“Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. We ask this in the name of Jesus,

our Lord and Savior.” We especially remember John Andon, Adam Devine, Joshua Devine, James Gaffney, John Gaffney, Saverio Maldari, Sean Muschette, Trevor Powers, and Sara Wulff.

School News

The last busy weeks of school are always filled with lots of fun! Our 8th graders' final week of school was marked by celebration and reflection at a retreat day, a Teddy-Bear Picnic with their Kindergarten buddies, the annual Class Night, dinner dance, and their graduation Mass and ceremony on Friday, June 7th. We thank them for serving as great role models for our younger students and we wish them the best of luck in their journey ahead!

Our third graders did a wonderful job on a Social Studies project which involved researching famous people from Massachusetts and presenting with a speech and posing as the figure in the 3rd annual Living Wax Museum. It was a great experience for all in attendance.

The 4th grade students allowed their guests to travel around the United States and learn all about the wonderful things each state has to offer at their State Fair!
