PFX Athletics Has Been Awarded the 2017 & 2018 NAIA World Series
PFX Athletics is proud to announce that we will host the
2017 & 2018 NAIA World Series at Legends Way Ballfields.
In an article written by Nikki Sherrill, NAIA Communication &
Sports Information, she writes “This will be the first time the
city of Clermont has hosted the Softball World Series, and
they now become the 15th h ost city for this event.
‘The NAIA is very excited to bring our NAIA Softball World
Series to the Sunshine State and beautiful city of Clermont,’
said Jim Carr, NAIA President and CEO. ‘We are thrilled to
be partnering with PFX Athletics, Lake County Economic Development and Tourism and Central Florida Sports
Commission to host this top-notch event for our student-coaches, fans and central Florida community.’
‘We are very excited to be hosting the NAIA Softball World Series at Legends Way Ball Fields in 2017 and 2018. It
has been a pleasure to work with the NAIA National Office as well as the many NAIA teams who have attended our
events in past years and we are looking forward to honoring these teams at the event that will determine the national
champion for NAIA Softball,’ said Alison Strange, President of PFX Athletics.
Currently, there are 191 schools who sponsor a varsity team.” Throughout the last 10 years, PFX has had the
pleasure of hosting over 65 NAIA teams for the Spring Games and 7 teams who played in the Sun Conference
Championship. Our staff and community look forward to hosting this event and bringing new teams to Lake County,
Florida.
Message from Bob
A lot of you have been asking about when you might see a schedule so I thought I would use this forum to give you our timeline.
The cutoff for “wish lists” is November 17th
Once we are able to get all your requests into the scheduling program then we will create a schedule. It is our intention to have a preliminary schedule to you around the beginning of December. I understand you have parents wanting to make plans and are asking so hopefully this will help.
Please share our website (www.PFXAthletics.com) with your fans so they may book discounted lodging with one of partners located near the ballfields. As the schedule becomes finalized, we will post it online via our website.

Another community outreach program that THE Spring
Games offers is the Bat Girl Program which allows boys
and girls to have the chance to live out their dreams of
being on the playing field, interacting with the players and
cheering them on from the dugout. This is a magical
“team” experience for both the players and the child.

Over the past 2 years, THE Spring Games has offered
teams the opportunity to get involved in a community
outreach program that would leave their mark on
children and organizations in our community.
Past teams enjoyed teaching children the importance
of education, encouragement tips, how softball
works, etc. These athletes and community members
had the chance to connect on an emotional level that
will never be forgotten.
