I hope your Christmas was filled with joy and laughter and your waist line has not suffered too much!
This is normally the time we start to think about changing our habits, eating less or more healthily and keeping fit being high on most peoples lists. This is understandable considering the constant stream of news informing us of all the latest reports about the importance of keeping fit. It can extend our life, it can improve our health, it can help fight off serious illness. On top of this, it makes us feel happier, more energised and can be very sociable depending on what you choose to do to keep fit.
We have so many options, there really is no excuse. I choose to run, and when I recommend running to others, I hear ‘I can’t run, I have never been able to run, I couldn’t run for the bus’… and so on. This may well be the case, however, no one would expect you to go from nothing to doing a 10k run in a matter of weeks, it takes time for your body to adjust to running, but once you can run, you are free to run, no matter what your age, whatever your commitments, whenever you want, making it the most flexible and cheapest way to keep healthy and fit. My Mum is 65 (don’t tell anyone I told you this) and is one of those who can’t run and has never run. In January, she is joining Doncaster Athletics Club on their beginners course for non runners. I will let you know how she gets on but I am one very proud daughter!
The deadline for the February issue for advertising and articles is Wednesday 14th January. The February Arrow will be delivered the last full weekend in January.

School News from Copley Junior School
The Angels’ Mission After successful completion of flying lessons, the angels in Year 4 completed several missions to proclaim, help, guide and celebrate the birth of baby Jesus – well done to Year 4! The Wizard of Oz Well done to all the pupils in Year 6 for their fantastic presentation of ‘The Wizard of Oz’. This was a very entertaining and humorous production, complete with an ‘X Factor’ selection for the role of Dorothy, a very wicked witch and some very unusual ugly sisters!

Well it is every female’s dream to look her best whatever the occasion and that is exactly what the team at the newly branded Victoria House Bridal and Occasion wear Boutique strive to do. Formerly Wedding Belles in Armthorpe, the shop boasts a totally fresh new image on both the lower “boutique” floor and also the luxurious bridal suite on the upper floor.
Headed by expert Personal Stylist Tina Gill, the girls in the store pride themselves on offering a personal service that is second to none with friendly honest style advice, and armed with a mission to ensure ladies leave the shop looking and feeling amazing. The ranges available in store cater for a wide range of sizes, ages, budgets and taste with many styles selected to cover the bits we all like to disguise (bye bye bingo wings!!) So, from gorgeous evening gowns, sparkly cocktail dresses, stylish Mother of the Bride and Groom outfits and amazing fascinators and accessories on the ground floor..... to stunning bridesmaid dresses and breath-taking bridal gowns in the bridal suite, this is a one stop shop for all your special occasion wear, and ......as unique stockists in the area you won’t see the same collections elsewhere locally.
Prom dresses are arriving in store weekly
and you would be hard put not to find your dream dress, which incidentally is never sold to anyone from the same
school going to the same Prom, so if you like a particular style, then it is best to get yours ordered as soon as possible. The team in store are trained to advise what styles suit your body shape, personality and size to assist you
with your decision making. Pastels play a big part of Prom dressing for 2015 with elegant styles and strong embellishments proving to be a popular choice
for many.
A full alteration service is also available, to ensure any dress or outfit is tailored specifically to you – and – we are dab hands at customising your
choice to create a more bespoke look should that be your preference, for instance we can add straps, take them away, create sashes, add
embellishments, to be honest anything you want really.
Check out our website or face book page to see details of our forthcoming Prom Princess event in February where we will have lots of ideas for
creating your perfect prom look, including hair and make-up advice as well as goody bags for anyone placing an order.
At the moment, there is a fantastic sale running until the end of January, where you can pick up a fabulous dress for a fraction of the original price
(including evening and occasion wear) but for readers of this magazine, on production of the advert you will also be entitled to 10% discount on full price
items throughout February. We look forward to seeing you soon!!!

In the lead up to Christmas there is nothing to compare to the joy of watching children’s excitement, enthusiasm and pride in performing their Nativity plays.
To great critical acclaim, our Year 1 and Year 2 children starred in our hilarious new nativity ‘A Midwife Crisis’.
In our Foundation Nativity, our youngest children were amaz-ing with no signs of first night nerves when they took to the stage in ‘The Little Nativity’.

FOOTBALL CELEBRATIONS During the autumn term our Y5/Y6 girls have been competing against other Doncaster primary schools in a football competition. The team successfully won through to the semi-finals which they won convincingly, leading to the South Yorkshire County Finals. Over a hundred schools took part in the overall competition and we are proud to announce that our team won 5th place. Well done girls!

Dementia Peer Support Groups
Talking about your worries and problems can be a very good way of releasing some of the stress that can build up when you’re a carer. Your family, friends and the medical and
social work team can all listen to your concerns. But sometimes it's best to talk to someone who knows exactly what you’re going through, because it's happening to them too. Other carers can offer kindness, sympathy, understanding and advice, and they can
make you feel less isolated.
Anyone living with Dementia/Alzheimer's, or, those who have concerns about their memory, are very welcome to come along to our dementia / Alzheimer's peer support
groups.
Do you have, or, do you care for someone with dementia/Alzheimer's?
Come and meet us and others in similar circumstances for a chat and coffee in a supportive and informal environment.
Groups are open to both carers and those living with dementia/Alzheimer's.
We meet monthly, sharing experiences, knowledge on services. Make new friends.
