Calm Sea of Peace

On occasion, I am a ship in stormy waters,

Tossed about by troubling thoughts,

Rocked harshly with emotional waves.

I am a ship searching for a calmer voyage

On the smooth surface of eventual surrender.

Protect me on the rough and roiling breakers

Of difficulties that agitate and fling me around.

Calm the patters of distressful undulation

Tossing me to and fro in life’s unwanted events.

Sail my ship on the calm sea of your peace.

Today: My ship finds the Calm Sea of Peace.

The World of Gender

Question:

What is “ Outing” and is it bad?

Answer: Outing” is the act of disclosing a person’s sexual orientation

or gender identity without that person’s consent. Outing someone can have serious repercussions on employment, economic stability, personal safety, religious or family situations.

If someone comes out to you, please check and gain consent for who you can share that information with

Avoid getting a parking ticket…

Parking Rules around St. Paul’s United Church: No parking within 5 meters (16 feet) of a stop sign

or yield sign. For our congregation, this applies to the stop sign on the NW corner of 116 st and 76 ave. This also applies to the two yield signs, one on the NE corner of 77 ave and 116 st and one on the SW corner of 77 ave and 116 st.

No parking within 5 meters of a crosswalk or intersection and every intersection is a crosswalk, whether marked or not. In our case there are crosswalks assumed at the intersections of 116 st and 76 ave and 116 st and 77 ave, albeit a strange angled intersection.

Parking spots in all other areas around the church streets and avenues are available and the 2-hour rule is not enforced during Sunday mornings.
