Desire of the Everlasting Hills Litany of the Sacred Heart

Creation echoes your kinship of love.

You call to us throughout the ages

In jubilant song of the ancient psalmist

Who has the hills singing exultantly.

With one voice they joyfully acknowledge

Your resonance in the heart of nature.

O Desire of the Everlasting Hills,

Your dance, too, in the story of our lives

With the rhythm of your loving heartbeat.

May we increase our receptivity to you.

Today: I open my heart to

Desire of the Everlasting Hills.

Everyone sees a movie differently.

Some people follow characters and others follow plot, while others enjoy seeing how a movie connects to everyday life. Whenever people gather to discuss a film they gain insight and illumination from hearing how others experienced it. If you have ever felt you saw a movie differently, and wanted to share what you learned, we invite you to join our discussions on the fourth Friday of each month for St. Paul's Cinema Group. This is a fellowship activity and not a group who advocate for better movies.

Our discussions vary from moral and religious issues through social and societal issues, which can include personal growth, attachment to community, political change, as well as the humor found in everyday life. Anyone may attend the movie and join our discussion.

This month’s gathering will be hosted by Dave Trautman and Lillian Kennedy in the Argyll Community Centre (6750 88 St) beginning at 7:00 PM. We hope you will put this event on your calendar and join us.

At our next gathering is on September 22nd we will watch the movie “Children of Men” Set in a world where humanity faces extinction due to widespread infertility. This story follows the efforts of one man to ensure hope for the future. It stars Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Information about the film can be found here: children of men If you would like to attend please contact Dave Trautman by e-mail < [email protected] > or phone: 780-463-9310.

Our online Cinema Group Resource Page allows visitors to see a list of all the films e have watched for the past few years (and further) and there is a place for leaving your own review or comment about any film. We also accept suggestions for films you might think we should see. The home for our group's information is: cinema group resource page
