The El Cazador was a brigantine of war, loaded with coins from the Mexico City mint, bound for the port of New Orleans. We found our most important watch in a soldier’s pocket

It’s the summer of 1944 and a weathered allied soldier is walking in Rome only days after the Allied Liberation. He finds an inter-esting timepiece in a store just off the Via Veneto and decides to splurge a little on this memento.
