Childhood• Born on March 3rd, 1847• He lived in Edinburgh Scotland. • Chose his own middle name,

“Graham”. • Made a talking machine that

looked like a robot head with his brother Melville

• Alexander’s grandfather tried to change Aleck.

• Aleck and Melville taught 2 or 3 children everyday school things where they lived. Aleck and his brother were not adults yet when they did this.

Young Adult

• Brothers died from tuberculosis .

• Alexander met Indians at the warm place he moved to.

• Learned their war dance.

Adult• Taught the deaf when he was an

adult.

• Alexander taught two kids that were deaf and important to him. Their names were Mable (16) and George (5).

• Used a special glove to teach George.

• Alexander even taught teachers how to teach the deaf.
