Ionbond is one of the largest service providers for hard, wear resistant, and low friction coatings utilizing state of the art PVD, CVD, and PACVD. This technology portfolio enables Ion-bond to select the coating process best suited for each indi-vidual application. Our industry leading Bernex™ CVD equip-ment is operated by the majority of manufacturers of ce-mented carbide inserts. Our coatings are used for the performance and lifetime im-provement of tools for cutting and forming. Mechanical engi-neering and the automotive industry use DLC coatings for their low friction properties. In addition, our coatings are in-creasingly applied to many consumer, sporting, and luxury goods in order to enhance the visual appearance and lifetime of the product.

Ionbond understands that it takes much more than just a great coating to achieve the desired component and system performance. All steps before and after the coating process must be thoroughly engineered in order to achieve the de-sired results. This includes the selection of the materials best suited for the product, the definition of the necessary surface finish, the cleaning process prior to coating, and many other critical aspects. Likewise, the proper post-treat-ment of the coated product is vital in many applications. Therefore, we work closely with our customers in a collabo-rative fashion in order to design the best process through-out the complete production cycle. This is Surface Engineer-ing as we understand it.

Chemical Vapor Deposition Technology

Ionbond is the world leading developer and manufacturer of Chemical Vapor Deposition equipment used for the produc-tion of hard and wear resistant coatings for tools and compo-nents. Since the industrialization of the CVD technology in the early 1970s, the Bernex™ branded process systems have been continuously improved for higher productivity and pro-cess reliability. The systems are engineered towards minimal maintenance efforts. At the same time, they offer the flexibil-ity of fast material and process changes in order to accom-modate mixed portfolios of coatings and substrates.

Ionbond Bernex™ CVD equipment, and the PVD and PACVD systems of our sister company Hauzer Techno Coating, con-stitute the most comprehensive and complete equipment portfolio for the hard and low friction coating market in the industry. Together, we provide unmatched performance in CVD, PVD and PACVD equipment.

CVD Ionbond Bernex™ BPXpro CVD equipment is a range of world-class systems used by the majority of original manufacturers of cemented carbide inserts for machining. They are increasingly used for forming and molding dies and mechanical compo-nents.
