THRILLER STORY BOARD
The thriller story board differed to the type of story board that we did for the preliminary. As we were aware and able to understand shot types and angles, we used drawings to create the story board for the thriller. Our confidence in shot angles, types and story planning were much higher than it was during the preliminary, hence the reason why we used a story board with out real images or locations but with group ideas.
LOCATION PLANNING
In the preliminary exercise, we used basic location within the area of the college.
However, the thriller opening needed a better atmosphere to fit the ideas we had for
the filming. We researched for locations unlike we did for the prelim and came to the
conclusion that we would film in the barbican. This was a huge step for us because
we had not used the equipment over far distances.
FILMING
When filming, it was difficult as we had a much more complex variety of shots to get
done. The prelim consisted of a few shots and match cuts using the 180degree rule.
However, the thriller opening used a range of shots and match cuts. Time and
perfection had to be considered to create a good opening without any faulty shots.
EDITING
Editing was one of the easiest aspects of the whole project. It was done on the
MacBook's which our group became familiar with over time since the prelim
production. We were able to insert video, edit videos with ease. We took further steps
by using Soundtrack pro which allowed us to use Foolery sounds, something that we
did not use in depth.
