The Treasure TrackerWhat is a pirate’s most prized possession? Gold. Jewels. Silver. TREASURE!

What is a pirate’s most sought after prize? The rarest treasure of them all- the black pearl.

As you work through the Virtual Book Club activities, you will be rewarded for your efforts with treasure pieces. At the end of our journey together, you will be equipped with a treasure chest full of ideas and practices worth their weight in gold-and jewels!

The Treasure Tracker is posted in the NAAE Virtual Book Club page on Communities of Practice. This will be updated after each assignment due date, or once a week, depending on the nature of the assignments. This will help in keeping track of what assignments you have completed. If you complete every activity, in addition to your Professional Development credits, there will be another surprise at the end of July.

What “Treasure” do I earn for each assignment? This is listed on the Crew’s Summer Voyage under the “Treasure Earned” column. Each blog post also has the corresponding Treasure that will be earned for completing the assignment.

Why did Alissa receive a reply to her post with a jewel and I didn’t? Starting a discussion, or uploading a document will receive a reply from NAAE staff with the appropriate jewel. Unfortunately, due to the layout of the replies to

a blog post, it is not feasible to reply with jewels for each person.

HOWEVER, the Treasure Tracker keeps track of everyone’s treasures all in one place. You can check there as much as possible to make sure you have received the correct jewels. Contact Katie at ([email protected]) if you have not received your jewel a week after posting.

I can’t attend one or both conference calls. Am I still eligible for the prize in July? YES! We understand that we cannot accommodate everyone’s schedule for phone calls, so you will still be eligible. This is also why you receive Doubloons.

What is the difference between jewels and doubloons? Jewels are for activities required to complete the virtual book club and receive credit. Doubloons are awarded for extra activities and bonuses that will occur throughout the course.
