It follows this order ONLY (if the party cannot answer the question it goes to the next level):• Brother puts question to Worshipful Master• Worshipful Master considers the question while consulting on the Masonic Code• Worshipful Master puts the question to the DDGM• DDGM attempts to provide the answer• DDGM puts the question to the District Advisor• District Advisor attempts to provide the answer• District Advisor puts the question to the Grand Master for his final answer• No Deviations will be allowed; if any of the listed participants skips any of the

Grand Lodge Charitable Foundation
• The GL Charitable Foundation was formed in 1994 by MWB Thomas Zahler to provide assistance to members, as well as non-members.
• The committee consists of the elected and appointed progressive line officers with the Junior Grand Warden as its President.
Working with the Resource Center
• The Charitable Foundation has been working in collaboration for the last year with the Ohio Masonic Home Resource Center.
•1-877-881-1623• They provide a look into the request, providing
what is not monitorial assistance like cutting through governmental or insurance red tape, among other restrictions.

Applying Have the lodge download the “Charitable Foundation Request for Assistance Form” from Grand View in the left hand navigation labeled “forms”.
• This is the form the lodge fills out, with detailed information on the recipient, circumstances of the request and an amount.
• Send the form to your DDGM
• DDGM makes written recommendation
• All requests are to be forwarded to the foundation including a positive or negative recommendation.
Masonic FuneralsThis is, perhaps, the most important public activity that a lodge can perform. Our brother’s dearest companions have requested you perform this last honor and the utmost in preparation and respectful conduct are required
• A masonic last rites form is available for the living to provide information to the survivors to facilitate the planning of the service
• Ensure a good turnout - contact the brethren by phone and email
• Send out a notice in Grandview
• Rehearse beforehand with the secretary, chaplain and deacons –don’t “wing it”
• It is the Worshipful Master’s responsibility to respond and ensure that the service takes place without a hitch

• This program is intended to increase the level of community visibility of symbolic Lodge Masonry.
• The program demonstrates that Masonry advocates good citizenship and recognizes deserving individuals for their contributions and efforts.
Major Jonathan Heart –Service to Country Award
• This award may be presented by a Lodge to its members or members of the public, who have been honorably discharged or who are currently performing military service.
• Lodges are encouraged to have a special recognition dinner at which the certificates are presented.
• Asking the local VFW or American Legion to post colors for this event adds a very special touch.

PARADES & PATRIOTIC EVENTS• Please plan to engage your lodge in participation of these
important community services.• Lodges do not need to seek a dispensation to wear their
aprons/regalia in parades, patriotic, and civic events• Contact your assigned District Deputy Grand Master at least
two weeks prior to the event to seek permission to wear such regalia in public
• The assigned DDGM will make a determination on appropriate use and reply with an email either granting or denying use of regalia in public. No forms need to be filed in such instances.

Pre-inspections & Inspections
Pre-inspections • You will be assigned a Pre-inspections date-typically before or after a stated
meeting with sufficient lead time before inspection.
• The Pre-inspection process enables the DDGM to identify any problems, and address them prior to Inspection night.
• Inspections will be rescheduled if the reports of the Secretary and Treasurer are not complete. THEY ARE DUE JANUARY 1, 2020
NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE!
• The Master, Treasurer, and Secretary must be present for the Pre-Inspection.
• ALL Lodge Officers should be strongly encouraged to attend as well.

Inspections• THESE ARE NOT THE GOAL OF THE LODGE
• They are a chance to show the GM that your lodge is fulfilling its Charter
• This year, the Lodge will be opened in the degree it is being inspected in.• Introductions will be done in the inspection degree.
• Lodges ARE NOT to open in Master Mason short form for introductions.
• Grand Honors will be given to those entitled to Grand Honors regardless of the inspection degree.
• Private Grand Honors will be given in all three degrees.

Inspections-continued • The inspection degree shall be performed – including the
full form opening, closing, lecture, and charge.• All ritual work must be performed according to our ritual.
• At the conclusion of the DDGM’s inspection night remarks, he shall direct the Master to Close the Lodge (unless the Grand Master and/or Deputy Grand Master are present). No one speaks after DDGM.
• All inspections should be closed no later than 9:30 pm.• Please be respectful of other's time.
• Bibles and Aprons can be presented and the Lodge Education Officers may address the candidate if time permits – and the Lodge can still close before 9:30pm.

Inspections-continued • The Worshipful Master should have a written agenda for
every meeting, but should take extra time when preparing for Inspection night. • A Worshipful Master that is not properly prepared should ask his District
Deputy for a later Inspection date.
• Every degree night should be considered an Inspection night and no candidate should expect any less.
• Introductions done according as last year• PDEOs, PDDGMs, PGMs, GLOs, DEOs, DDGMs
• All speaking parts must be done by members of the Lodge being inspected for an inspection to be considered proficient.
