His long association with the Walt Disney Company has yielded original themes, songs, and arrangements for their animated features, movies, and all of their worldwide theme parks. Smith’s broadcast credits range from major network themes including inauguration and election themes for CBS, the ubiquitous CBS logo, to underscores for the various Star Trek dramas, Warner Bros. cartoons, as well as sports themes for ESPN, TNT, ABC, Headline News, the NY Mets, the New Jersey Devils, and the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has written hundreds of commercial soundtracks for numerous companies that include Mattel, Disney, American Express, Kodak, Hasbro, and Proctor & Gamble. The family/educational symphonic works of Gregory Smith have enjoyed nearly 1,000 performances by more than 200 orchestras, often with Smith narrating. The international reach of these works continues to expand with numerous performances in the United Kingdom, China, South Korea, Germany, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere. Most of his eight works in this genre were premièred (and all have been performed) at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music and conducted by his long-time champion, Marin Alsop. Dina Gilbertconductor

A native of Québec, Dina Gilbert is the Founder and Artistic Director

of Ensemble Arkea, a Montréal-based professional chamber orchestra,

and was named Assistant Conductor to Kent Nagano at the Orchestre

symphonique de Montréal in April 2013. She also assisted guest

conductors including Zubin Mehta, Roger Norrington, Charles Dutoit,

and Giancarlo Guerrero. From the 2017/18 season, she is the Music Director

of the Estuaire Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra.

Over the last few years, she has conducted numerous orchestras in Canada and overseas including

the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Radio France Philharmonic, Mihail Jora Philharmonic, Estonian

National Youth, Pärnu City, China Youth Symphony, Lyon National, and Sinfonia Varsovia orchestras.

2017/18 highlights include débuts with the Grands Ballets Canadiens, Regina and Winnipeg

Symphony Orchestras, and Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, and at Festival de Lanaudière; she also

returns to conduct the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitan, Orchestre

symphonique de Montréal, and these performances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Dina Gilbert earned her doctorate from Université de Montréal, where she studied with Jean-François

Rivest and Paolo Bellomia. She is also the holder of a bachelor’s degree in clarinet performance

and a master’s degree in conducting. She polished her skills in masterclasses with Kenneth Kiesler,

Leonid Grin, Peter Eötvös, Johannes Schlaefli, Pinchas Zukerman, and Neeme Järvi.

Jenny O’Mearavocalist

Jenny found her passion for singing and dancing early on in life, as a child.

At age 17, she performed at Disney World in Orlando. She then went on

to study vocal jazz at Humber College, graduating with the Dean’s Award

in the field of music, and has also studied with renowned vocal

instructors and coaches such as Seth Riggs (Stevie Wonder, Michael

Jackson) and Dave Stroud (Adam Lambert, Jordan Sparks). Jenny has

toured extensively throughout North America, Asia, and Africa with her choir, Univox, and her own

group, Jenny & the Jets, of which she is a bandleader. In 2013, she performed with one of her

idols, Terry Ellis from En Vogue, in Los Angeles.

When Jenny is not performing, she teaches music at Toronto’s Regent Park School of Music, where she

is a leader and administrator for many of the summer camps, including the glee camp that performs

at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Jenny also teaches at Lovenotes Music School and enjoys

working as a personal trainer. Jenny would like to thank her family and friends for their ongoing support.
