Synopsis. Dido, Queen of Carthage, falls inlove with Aeneas, the Trojan hero who hasbeen cast on her shore after the fall of Troy.
A sorcerer in the guise of Mercury, messengerof the gods, informs Aeneas he must leaveDido and go with his men to found Rome.
Dido laments the loss of her love and takes
poison.

Don Annibole's relations, and wedding guests.
Synopsis. An elederly Neapolitan apothecaryDon Annibale, marries young and pretty
Serafina. Enrico, a gay young blade, plansrevenge. Three times, as the old man is readyfor bed, Enrico rings the bell that anapothecary may not ignore. First he simulates
a Frenchman who demands wine; next a
singer who has lost his voice and needslozenges; last, a doddering old man who listshis wife's illnesses ad infinitum. The opera
ends as the dawn breaks and the bell is rung
for the last time to announce the coach and
horses which will drive Don Annibale to Rome,
where his presence is needed to settle a will.He loses Serafina's dowry because the marriage
has not been consummated in the time
required by law.
