Nice choice, Harold. The former LOST regular only plays one of the many peculiar characters on The Unusuals. In the pilot, we follow the story of Casey Shraeger (Amber Tamblyn), a young detective with a delinquent rich girl past who does undercover work posing as a prostitute. When reassigned to investigate the death of a supposed crooked cop Burt Kowalski, she teams up with the deceased officer’s old partner Jason Walsh (Jeremy Renner) and meets the rest of the police unit, including the snarky, pretentious, and overly religious. As they crack Kowalski’s case, she learns that he too was a bit unusual. He picked up prostitutes and told his wife about it, he kept secret files on all the other detectives, and he reached out to troubled youth to encourage them to seek a better life. Things went sour with one teen, and Kowalski ended up dead by his hands. Meanwhile, Banks and his partner Eric Delahoy (Adam Goldberg) track down a cat killer and patronize their prime suspect until he confesses to the crime. It made for some enjoyable comic relief. Delahoy was interesting; recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and given 6 months to live, he foils Banks by putting himself in life-threatening situations and miraculously comes out alive. The previews don’t lie: this is not your ordinary cop show. The detectives do odd things and they deal with odd cases, making the pilot very inventive and refreshing. Nice blend of comedy and drama, creative storyline, interesting characters. The Unusuals is off to a good start. -AAC Puryear ShareThis Subscribe to PopSense via feed or email, or friend us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for free updates! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of article, view comments- 3 comments » Feature 1 Feature 2 Feature 3 Feature 4 DO NOT READ THIS POST This is probably a gimmick...[MORE] Hipster Wife Hunting: Memes in ADVERTISEMENT Dynasty Video Foever and a Day Video Full Focus Video Statistics Video Rock n Roller Video POPSENSE POLL Online Surveys & Market Research Previous Question: What is the new alt?
