Follows Function

(Acts 3:1-10 NASB) (Acts 3:1-10 NASB) Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer. {2} And a certain man who had been lame from his mother's womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms of those who were entering the temple. {3} And when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms. {4} And Peter, along with

John, fixed his gaze upon him and said, "Look at us!" {5} And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. {6} But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-- walk!" {7} And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. {8} And with a leap, he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking

and leaping and praising God. {9} And all the people saw him walking and praising God; {10} and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

(Rom 8:28 NLT) (Rom 8:28 NLT) And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

1.God had a function in mind when He made me(Acts 2:12 NLT) (Acts 2:12 NLT) They stood there amazed and perplexed. "What can this mean?" they asked each other.

2.God is very functional in my life in everything He does(Acts 3:6 NLT) (Acts 3:6 NLT) But Peter said, "I don't have any money for you. But I'll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

3.God takes me to places I wouldn’t go (Acts 4:1-4 NLT) (Acts 4:1-4 NLT) While Peter and John were speaking to the people, the leading priests, the captain of the Temple guard, and some of the Sadducees came over to them. {2} They were very disturbed that Peter and John were claiming, on the authority of Jesus, that there is a resurrection of the dead. {3} They arrested them and, since it was already evening, jailed them until morning. {4} But many of the people who heard their message believed it, so that the number of believers totaled about five thousand men, not counting women and children.

4.The function (message) of my life supersedes the form (method and the messenger) (Acts 4:8-12 NLT) (Acts 4:8-12 NLT) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Leaders and elders of our nation, {9} are we being questioned because we've done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed? {10} Let me clearly state to you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed in the name and power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man you crucified, but whom God raised from the dead. {11} For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.' {12} There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.”

5.My life becomes simpler (Acts 4:13 NLT) (Acts 4:13 NLT) The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men who had had no special training. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

6.Form must follow function in my life with Jesus (Acts 5:41-42 NLT) (Acts 5:41-42 NLT) The apostles left the high council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer dishonor for the name of Jesus. {42} And every day, in the Temple and in their homes, they continued to teach and preach this message: "The Messiah you are looking for is Jesus.“

Our FUNCTION is to know Him and make Him known! This is the fulfillment of both the

Great Commission and the Great Commandment!
