BLACK-BELT PROGRAMS ONLINEThere are three separate intensive programs for training IN ONE YEAR newBlack Belts in the following disciplines which need rapid development:

- VIET-CHI-KIEM- VIET-KHI-PHAP- NOI-CONG CHI-LUC

Each program will start separately Mid-July 2012 and ends at June 2013.Materials (texts, video, PPS) will be delivered individually via email twice a

month for having 50 weeks of training contents. The learner is free to organizehis or her own schedule of self-training and learning.

These disciplines are new disciplines with new concepts, and these programs areopen to learners from all background. We strongly encourage you to bring infriends from any of traditional disciplines such as Aikido, Kendo, Judo, Karate,KungFu, Vietvodao, Taiji Quan, etc.. Your friend will benefit from the same rateas your in term of cost.

At the end of each program the registered learner will received a Certificate ofEligibility which certifies that the learner has fully received the content of theProgram and is eligible to pass the evaluation for the Black Belt Degreewhenever he or she could feel ready to do it, just at the end of the program oranytime later , before the dealine of four years.

A califourchonsur sa moto Honda, Clara laissa derrire elle la trpidante ville de Hanoi. Sur la route32, de Hanoi Yen-Bai, la circulation tait fluide et la temprature agrable. Cette route dans la valle dufleuve Sng Hng (Fleuve Rouge) est un axe de communication important entre Hanoi et le nord-ouest duVietnam jusqu la frontire avec la Chine. Ainsi, dans lhistoire du Vietnam, les envahisseurs du nordempruntaient cette valle pour atteindre Hanoi. Clara qui jusqu maintenant avait tudi lhistoire dans leslivres et les archives ralisa avec motion quelle tait en train de traverser cette rgion au riche passhistorique. Au loin, elle aperut un cheval blanc et elle imagina le Kim-Si Bao Dan chevauchant Sao Bang,il y a plus de quatre sicles. La ville de Son-Ty, environ 45 km au nord-ouest de Hanoi allait tre sa

premire tape. Cette ville tait un site important en amont du fleuve pour la protection de Hanoi. Sur lesconseils de son matre, elle allait explorer les environs du mont Ba-Vi, pas loin de Son-Ty. Il lui avaitracont lhistoire dun petit temple ou miuqui avait t brl vers 1414. Elle se souvint quau cours de sesrecherches la bibliothque, elle avait trouv la rfrence de ce fait historique, devenu lgendaire, dans lelivre du 16mesicle Truyn Ky Man Luc parNguyn Du. Trs longtemps avant cette poque un miu

avait t construit au pied de la montagne. Ce miutait ddi au thnou ange gardien du lieu. A cettepoque aussi vivait Ng Soan, matre darts martiaux. Un jour, il vint aux alentours du petit temple etdclara la population locale que lesprit du gnral Thi-Bach, de larme des Ming qui avaient envahi leVietnam, hantait le miu.

Thi-Bach tait un homme cruel et avide qui avait amass beaucoup de richesses ; il tait un adjoint dugnral Huyen Nhan chef de la police secrte de cette arme des envahisseurs. Thi-Bach avait t tu aucombat dans une embuscade non loin du miu alors quil rdait secrtement dans la rgion pour surveillerses trsors cachs. Lembuscade avait t tendue par une milice de rsistance vietnamienne soutenue par lasocit de protection nationale Thuan Thien.

Ce jour-l, alors que le soleil dclinait lhorizon, en respectant les rites crmoniaux habituels, matre NgSoan rigea un autel et prenant ciel et terre tmoins, il lana un dfi lesprit du gnral Thi-Bach. Selonla lgende, peine avait-il fini ses incantations que de gros nuages noirs assombrirent le ciel. Au milieudclairs et dun grondement de tonnerre assourdissant, lesprit de Thi-Bach apparut. Le combat entrematre Ng Soan et Thi-Bach dura toute la nuit. Au petit matin, le soleil levant annona la fin du combat.Bien que matre Ng Soan fusse en position de supriorit, lesprit refusait obstinment de quitter le miu.Confront cet enttement, matre Ng Soan brla le miuet quitta les lieux. La nuit suivant cetvnement, alors que matre Ng Soan dormait dans sa demeure, un homme vtu comme un pauvre paysanapparut dans son rve. Lhomme aux yeux vifs et lallure digne le salua respectueusement et le remerciadavoir chass lesprit malfaisant du gnral Thi-Bach. Lhomme dit quil tait Th-Thn, lesprit tutlairedu lieu depuis de nombreuses gnrations, et quil tait lobjet de la vnration des villageois.

Malheureusement, depuis peu de temps, lesprit du gnral Thi-Bach lavait chass et usurp sa place.Th-Thn tait devenu un esprit errant et tait all se rfugier dans le grand temple du gnie du mont Ba-Vi.Cette nuit, il vient pour rapporter matre Ng Soan que lesprit du gnral Thi-Bach est all porter plainteauprs du roi du Royaume des Morts. Ainsi, il le prvient quil va tre convoqu au Royaume des Morts

pour tre jug concernant la destruction du miu. La destruction dun temple est un acte pour lequel on peuttre damn. Le visiteur Th-Thn lassure quil ny a pas lieu davoir peur, il lui suffira de dire la vritlorsquil sera convoqu devant le roi du Royaume des Morts et de dnoncer lusurpation commise parlesprit du gnral Thi-Bach. Lesprit Th-Thn est prt venir tmoigner. Saluant nouveaurespectueusement, le visiteur sclipsa. A peine avait-il disparu que deux gardes apparurent et prsentrent matre Ng Soan un mandat de comparatre devant le roi du Royaume des Morts. Aussitt, les gardes lesaisirent et lemmenrent. Au Royaume des Morts, la sance des tmoignages devant le roi savra houleuse

mais avec le tmoignage de Th-Thn justice fut rendue. Lesprit du gnral Thi-Bach fut svrement punipour ses actes et lordre fut donn matre Ng Soan de btir un nouveau miupour Th-Thn. Le

jugement rendu, les deux gardes escortrent matre Ng Soan sa maison. Quand il se rveilla, lentouragede matre Ng Soan dclara quil avait dormi profondment pendant trois jours. Peu de temps aprs, unnouveau miufut bti un endroit propice et plus serein non loin de l.

Clara se souvint des remarques faites par son matre concernant ce miubrl. Selon les archives de lasocit Thuan Thien, matre Ng Soan tait lun des cent-huit membres fondateurs de la socit. A cettepoque, le miuavait t utilis par les envahisseurs Ming comme point de repre pour localiser les lieuxcachs de leurs armes et de leurs trsors. Dans leur action de lutte contre les envahisseurs, les membres dela socit Thuan Thien avaient dcid de dtruire le miuet deffacer toute trace de son existence pour

perturber lorientation de lennemi. Pour dtruire ce point de repre qui tait un lieu de vnration pour lapopulation locale, il fallait trouver un prtexte convaincant. Cest ainsi que matre Ng Soan inventa cettehistoire qui plus tard devint une lgende. Pour les recherches de Clara, son matre lui avait dit que ce seraitintressant de retrouver lemplacement du miudorigine qui est non seulement un lieu historique mais aussiun point de repre pour retrouver dautres lieux dintrt.

Ds son arrive Son Tay, Clara rserva une chambre dans un htel modeste mais propre et se renditaussitt vers le mont Ba-Vi. Avec les indications fournies par son matre, elle trouva, sans difficults, lemiuconnu sous le nom de miu du Tigrepar les membres de la socit secrte Thuan Thien. Lendroit

tait paisible et il ny avait personne aux alentours. Clara sassit sur une marche lentre du miuet admirale sommet du mont Ba-Vi dans la brume. Alors quelle tait plonge dans ses penses, elle se sentitobserve. Elle regarda derrire elle. Avec surprise, elle vit une vieille dame dallure noble et digne quilobservait de ses yeux perants. Ce qui surprit Clara le plus est quelle tenait un sabre tranchant dont lalame luisait sous les rayons du soleil. Clara se leva et, tout en restant sur ses gardes, salua respectueusementla dame. Avec soin, la dame adossa son sabre contre le mur du miuet posa un sac renfermant les plantesmdicinales quelle venait de rcolter. Elle savana vers Clara en lui demandant : Do venez-vousmademoiselle ? Clara : Je viens de Californie aux Etats Unis dAmrique. La dame : Vous venez donc visiter votre terre natale. Clara : Je mappelle Clara Ikube. Je viens visiter des lieux historiques pour mes recherches.

La dame, tonne : Je nai jamais vu personne sintresser ce lieu. Comment savez-vous que ce miu estun lieu historique digne dintrt? Clara : Selon mon matre darts martiaux, ce miu a t bti par matre Ng Soan pour remplacer le miuquil avait fait brler. La dame, la regardait avec un intrt croissant alors que Clara continuait Est-ce

bien celui-ci quon appelle le miu du tigre ? La dame resta stupfaite quelques instants car ce nom nestconnu que par les membres de la socit Thuan Thien ; les habitants des environs lappellent miu ThThn.La dame : Oui, cest bien cela mais qui est votre matre ? Clara : Mon matre est vietnamien, originaire de Hanoi. Je le connais seulement sous son nom amricain,matre Steve Hogan. La dame ne dit rien mais parut trs mue. Clara, silencieuse, regardait le vieux sabre avec intrt. Ce sabre

ressemblait beaucoup au sabre de matre Dinh Mai tant par la courbure de la lame que par la forme de lapoigne. La dame, suivant le regard de Clara, demanda : Pratiquez-vous lart du sabre ? Clara : Oui, mon matre me la enseign. Dlicatement, la dame prit son sabre et le tendit Clara qui le reut crmonieusement, selon la manireenseigne par son matre.La dame : Pouvez-vous excuter pour moi quelques mouvements ? (A suivre)

Sitting astride her Honda motorcycle, Clara left behind the bustling city of Hanoi. On Highway 32, fromHanoi to Yn Bai, the traffic was light and the temperature pleasant. This road in the valley of the RiverSng Hng (Red River) is an important communication axis between Hanoi and the north-west of Vietnamto the border with China. Thus, in the history of Vietnam, the invaders from the north took this valley toHanoi. Clara, who had studied to date in history books and archive, emotionally realized that she was goingthrough this region rich in history. From a distance, she saw a white horse and she imagined the sword manBao Dan straddling his horse Sao Bang, more than four centuries ago. The city of Son Ty, about 45 kmnorthwest of Hanoi, would be her first step. This city was an important site, upstream of the river, for the

protection of Hanoi. On the advice of her martial arts master, she was exploring the vicinity of Mount Ba-Vi, not far from Son Ty. He had told her the story of a small temple or miu that was burned around 1414.She remembered that during her research at the library, she had found the reference to this historical fact,which had become legendary, in the 16th century book "Truyn Ky Man Luc" byNguyn Du. Long beforethat time, a miu had been built at the foot of the mountain. That miuwas dedicated to a guardian angel ofthe place or thn. At that time also lived Ng Soan, a martial arts master. One day, he came around the smalltemple and told the local people that the spirit of General Thi-Bach, of the Ming army that had invadedVietnam, haunted the miu.

Thi-Bach was a cruel and greedy man who had amassed great wealth; he was a deputy to General Huyn

Nhn secret police chief of this army of invaders. Thi-Bach had been killed in an ambush near the miuwhile secretly lurking around in the area to check on his hidden treasures. The ambush had been stretched bya Vietnamese resistance militia supported by the secret society for the protection of the country, the societyThun Thin.

That day, while the sun was setting on the horizon, following the usual ceremonial rites, Master Ng Soanbuilt an altar, taking heaven and earth to witness he issued a challenge to the spirit of General Thi-Bach.According to legend, no sooner had he finished his incantations that big black clouds darkened the sky. Inthe midst of lightning and deafening thunder, Thi-Bachs spirit appeared. The combat between Master NgSoan and Thi-Bach lasted all night. At dawn, the sunrise announced the end of combat. Although Master

Ng Soan had been in a position of superiority, stubbornly the spirit refused to leave the place. Faced with

this stubborn spirit, Master Ng Soan burnt the miuand left the area. The night after this event, whileMaster Ng Soan slept in his house, a man dressed as a poor peasant appeared in his dream. The man, whohad a keen eye and a very dignified air about him, respectfully saluted and thanked Master Ng Soan forhaving driven out the evil spirit of General Thi-Bach. The man said he was the guardian spirit (Th-Thn)of the place for many generations, and he was the object of veneration of the villagers. Unfortunately, notlong ago, the spirit of General Thi-Bach chased him out of the miu and usurped his place. Th-Thn who

became a wandering spirit had taken refuge in the great temple of the genie of Mount Ba-Vi. That night, hecomes to inform Master Ng Soan that the spirit of General Thi-Bach submitted a formal complain to theking of the Kingdom of the Dead. Thus, he warns him that he will be summoned to the Kingdom of theDead to be judged for the destruction of the miu. The destruction of a temple is an act for which one can bedamned. The visitor Th-Thn assures that there is no reason to be afraid, just simply tell the truth when

being summoned before the king of the Kingdom of the Dead and denounce the theft committed by the spiritof Thi-Bach. The spirit Th-Thn is ready to testify. Respectfully saluting again, the visitor vanished. Nosooner had he disappeared two guards appeared and presented to Master Ng Soan a warrant to appear

before the king of the Kingdom of the Dead. Immediately, the guards seized him and led him away. At theKingdom of the Dead, the testimony session before the king proved tumultuous; but with the testimony ofTh-Thn, justice was done. The spirit of the General Thi-Bach was severely punished for his actions andorder was given to Master Ng Soan to build a new miu for Th-Thn. The judgment pronounced the twoguards escorted Master Ng Soan back to his house. When Master Ng Soan awoke, his entourage said hehad slept soundly for three days. Shortly after, a new miuwas built at a suitable and more serene locationnearby.

Clara remembered the remarks made by her master on this burnt miu. According to the society ThuanThien archive, Master Ng Soan was one of one hundred and eight founding members of the society. At that

time, the miu had been used by the Ming invaders as a benchmark to locate the hidden places of theirweapons and their treasures. In their action against the invaders, the members of society Thuan Thien haddecided to destroy the miuand erase all traces of its existence to disrupt the orientation of the enemy. Todestroy this landmark which was a place of worship for the local population, they needed a convincingexcuse. Thus Master Ng Soan invented this story that later became a legend. For Claras research, hermaster had told her that it would be interesting to find the location of the original miuthat is not only ahistorical place but also a landmark to locate other sites of interest.

Upon her arrival in Son Ty, Clara reserved a room at a small but clean hotel and immediately went toMount Ba-Vi area on her Honda motorcycle. With the information provided by her master, she found,without difficulty, the miuknown asMiu of the Tigerby members of the secret society Thun Thin. The

place was peaceful and deserted. Clara sat on a step at the entrance of the miuand admired the summit ofMount Ba-Vi in the mist. While she was deep in thought, she felt observed. She looked behind her. Withsurprise, she saw an old lady with a dignified appearance, watching her with piercing eyes. Clara was mostsurprised to see the lady was holding a sword, its sharp blade gleaming in the light of the sun. Clara stood upand, while remaining on guard, respectfully saluted the lady. With care, the lady leaned her sword againstthe wall of the miubeside a bag containing medicinal plants she had just harvested. She went up to Claraand asked, "Where are you from miss?

Clara: "I am from California in the United States of America."The lady: "So, you come and visit your homeland."Clara: "My name is Clara Ikube. I am just visiting historical sites for my research. "The lady, surprised: "I've never seen anyone be interested in this place. How do you know that miuis ahistoric place of interest? "Clara: "According to my martial arts master, this miuwas built by Master Ng Soan to replace the miuthat he had burned." The lady looked at her with growing interest as Clara continued Is this miu the onecalledMiu of the Tiger? The lady was stupefied a moment because that name is known only by membersof the society Thun Thin, the local inhabitants call it miu Th Thn.The lady: Yes, that's right but who is your master?Clara: My master is Vietnamese, from Hanoi. I know him only under his American name, Master Steve

Hogan.The woman said nothing but appeared deeply moved. Clara kept silent, watching the old sword. This swordwas much like the sword of Master Dinh Mai as well as the curvature of the blade that the shape of thehandle.
