With the holidays fast approaching, November becomes a busy month. As with every month, the ever-popular Parent's Night Out is a perfect time to get some quiet time without the kids. Those nights are on the 6th and the 20th, from 5:30 – 10 pm.
For teens we are doing a Scavenger Hunt on the 21st from 6 – 9 pm.
We are excited about the Mini Camps just before the Thanksgiving holiday, which are held from 10 am – noon. The activities are as follows:
• November 23rd Thanksgiving crafts • November 24th Thanksgiving games • November 25th Thanksgiving movies Remember we will be closed on the 26th in observation of Thanksgiving and we will re-open on the 27th at 12 pm.
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be Sunday the 29th starting at 5:30 pm. We will hold a drawing for that special person to flip the switch on the Christmas Tree lights. Please stop by the recreation center to fill out an application for the drawing. Also, after the Christmas Tree lighting, remember to have your children write their letters to Santa and drop them in the special mailbox at the Rec Center. Letters will need to be dropped off by December 15th to ensure delivery to the North Pole before Christmas.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to call us at (719) 495-7119 or email us at [email protected]
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.
CreekView Grill EventsOn November 5th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm, Meridian Ranch Elementary and CreekView Grill present Bulldogs PTA Night. Bring the family to the CreekView Grill to help support Meridian

NewsNovember starts the beginning of the holiday season when we all start cooking festive holiday meals and goodies. Many of these meals and goodies use delicious ingredients that can be harmful to your drains and pipes. Meals with Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) include, meat, cheese, baked and deep-fried goods, gravy, eggs, oil and butter. FOG hardens and sticks to the inside of sewer pipes, blocking the ability of wastewater to flow smoothly, which can potentially cause backups or overflow situations. The service line from the main connection in the street to the house is the homeowner’s responsibility. Here are a few tips to help reduce the amount of FOG that you introduce to the sewer system. These should be followed year round. • Pour left over liquid grease into an empty container such as a vegetable can to let it harden, then throw it away in your daily trash disposal. • Wipe fat, oil and grease from pots, pans and tableware with disposable paper towels before washing them• Try to minimize the use of your garbage disposal. • Use a screen over your drains to catch food particles, then dispose of the food particles in the trash. By following these simple tips to reduce FOG in the sewer system, we can all benefit from reduced maintenance costs. We hope everyone has a wonderful safe holiday season. If you have any questions or comments please contact us either by email at [email protected] or by calling 719-495-6567.
The Meridian Ranch Management Team for the Design Review Council is:
Jamie Adams, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Managing [email protected]
Amy Aarons, Management Team Assistant [email protected]
Did you know? There is a covenant management policy in place for both the Design Review Councils; A specific procedure is set up to handle all covenant matters so that consistency and fairness are applied, while affording repeat violations a reasonable opportunity for notice and remedy. Be patient! Each resident is given time to remedy the violation. You may not see the progress while resolution is being reached, but it doesn’t mean that nothing is being done.
The complete Covenant Management Policy can be found on the website:
www.meridianranchdrc.org; either Meridian Ranch DRC no 1 or Meridian Ranch DRC no 2 Resources; Governing documents.
Coming up in December; the DRC is looking forward to judging the Christmas lights throughout the community. So, let’s see your creativity shine! Judging will be taking place the week of December 15th!
More information to follow in the annual assessment packet!
Developer NewsThe Shops at Meridian Ranch retail center located at the northeast corner of Meridian Road and Stapleton Drive is getting closer to breaking ground. We are proud to announce that Nana’s Kitchen is coming to the Shops at
Meridian Ranch. Nana’s Kitchen is owned by Rick Coffelt and the Coffelt family. It is named after his mother, Charlotte “Nana” and is dedicated to mothers and grandmothers everywhere. Rick’s dream has always been to create a neighborhood diner where everyone feels welcome as they walk in and satisfied as they walk out. The love of cooking and the recipes were inspired by his mother and grandmother and learned by Rick
as he grew up in Oklahoma. It is a true family affair with son, Cory and daughter, Sharra helping to run the business. Nana’s Kitchen provides authentic, fresh home cooking with specialties including biscuits with homemade sausage gravy, chicken fried steak, fresh, never frozen hamburgers, made from scratch green chili, catfish, steaks and the Big Bad Burrito. Nana’s Kitchen will be open from 6 am to 9 pm serving breakfast, lunch and d inner.
Breakfast is offered all day. Nana’s first opened when the Coffelts purchased Jill’s Café 5 years ago. Every meal is made to order with fresh ingredients in a friendly atmosphere of casual, comfortable dining.

DRC NO. 1: YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT! An Amendment to the Covenants section 4.3 for DRC No. 1 was sent out on October 13th via the mail. If you have voted, thank you! If you have not, please log in to the website; www.meridianranchdrc.org/ Meridian Ranch DRC no 1. Resources, Amendment to the Covenants. Or mail back the self -addressed envelope with the consent form. Vote to Consent or Non-consent and send it back by 11/16/2015.A Special Meeting to answer questions, so you can vote, is scheduled for November 2nd at the Rec Center starting at 6:00 p.m.The purpose of the amendment to Section 4.3 of the CC&R’s is to allow the members to vote for their Board of Directors for the Design Review Council. Currently, the CC&R’s do not have a mechanism for the owners in DRC no 1, Filings 1,4 and 4B to elect their Board of Director after the Declarant turns over control of the Board. The new Board Members filling any vacancies are to be appointed by the then-current Board members after the Declarant (GTL, Inc., the developer of Meridian Ranch) turns over control of the Board. It is in the best interest of the community to consent on this amendment.
We look forward to hearing back from you.Thank you, The Board of Directors of the Design Review Council (DRC) no. 1
