Your Voice, Your Choice.Two thousand KU students voted in this year’s elections- more than doubling last year’s number of votes and breaking KUSU records for the highest voter turnout in seven years!You also voted in your first female KUSU president for twelve years. Denza, the new president for 2013-14, was elected with 689 votes out of a total of 1533 votes cast for the position.The new president is a self-professed advocate of extra-curricular involvement, and is looking to boost the number of students taking part in the students’ union’s clubs and societies.She said: “I’m absolutely determined that more people should get involved in extra-curricular activities. Students come to university to get a degree, so to that extent, the University is primarily an education centre. But everything else, in terms of personal development, employability skills, everything else - is down to what you do with your time here as a student.”
