WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
We need your help! The Take Pride in Your Community Committee is looking for sponsors for the annual event on April 27th,2019. What is Take Pride in Your Community? Take Pride is an annual community event that brings together volunteers to pick up trash, plant trees and plants, and beautify the community. Last year we had over 1100 volunteers participate. What do we need?
1. Money: The monetary donations go toward purchasing trees, plants, tools and safety t-shirts for the volunteers.
2. Raffle Prizes: Gift certificates, gear and goodies are raffled to our dedicated volunteers.
3. Barbeque Supplies: After a long morning of hard work, we hold an appreciation barbeque for all the volunteers. We need food, drinks and all the fixings for a good barbeque.
4. Volunteers!
What do you get from us becoming a sponsor? Each volunteer receives a list of all the sponsors. For monetary or in kind donations of $500 or more, business logos will be printed on volunteer
safety T-shirts. We will purchase and plant a tree in the community for a $250 donation.
We could not continue this great community event without generous sponsors like yourself. We really appreciate your continued support and Pride in our Community! Thank you! Take Pride in Your Community Committee Please mail monetary donations to:
PACE Coalition 1645 Sewell Drive, Suite 41, Elko, NV 89801.
For more information, please contact:
Laura Oslund (PACE Coalition) at 777-3451 Shelley Petersen (City of Elko) at 777-7210 Michelle Cromwell (Spring Creek Association) 753-6295.
Please have all donations in by March 15, 2019.

Mamma Mia! will be performed at the Great Basin College Theater Tuesday, March 19th through Saturday, March 23rd at 7:30 PM.
When asked why he decided on this show, Director, John Patrick Rice said, “ I always do a musical in the Spring because we just endured a long winter, and what could be better than visiting a Greek island in the Mediterranean? Plus, it’s ABBA—it’s so accessible and a great gift to our community.”
Speaking of community, the show itself will be the result of the collaborative, creative efforts of Vocal Director, Gail Mierins, Orchestra Director, Walt Lovell, Choreographer, Laura Cdebaca, and the talents of some 50 or so GBC students and community members.
Rice said, “I never want to take the easy road, and this is a challenging play, but after our first orchestra rehearsal, I knew that this is the cast that can do it. Myself, and others, always want to provide an even better experience year after year, and without my collaborators and those working behind and in front of the scenes, I know this couldn’t happen.”
Tickets are on sale now at GBC’s Berg Hall, $20 for Adults and $15 for Students/Senior Citizens.
Originally established 25 years ago in Twin Falls, Idaho, the Elko Garibaldi’s location was opened in March of 2018.
Owner, Susana Bravo said, “I brought Garibaldi’s to Elko because I have a passion for this business and for the opportunity in this community. We offer culture and atmosphere that make you feel transported as well as delicious, authentic food.”
To celebrate their first year in business, Garibaldi’s will be hosting a celebration on March 16th from 5 PM to 9 PM. The festivities will include a live Mariachi band, appetizers, margaritas and prizes.
Visit the local location to enjoy monthly lunch specials, plan on Happy Hour from 4 PM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, or get the girls together for their ‘Ladies Night’ on Wednesdays.
