each scarf is a unique work of art proudly designed in South africa, after being hand-woven in Kashmir. tRebeNe’s first collection,
Wanderlust, is inspired by the travel photographs and memories that the founder, bushera bashir, gathered over the past 10 years
of travelling around the world. the collection includes five uniquely designed scarves inspired by her memories; from egyptian
pyramids to blooming spring flowers in the founder’s native Kashmir as well as South africa's national flower, the Protea (with
South africa being her current home).
It takes 30 days of meticulous, traditional hand weaving to complete one scarf. Currently, only 0.1% of the global production of
cashmere comes from Kashmiri, therefore making tRebeNe scarves highly exclusive.
at the heart of tRebeNe’s business model are Kashmiri weavers whose lives have been affected by the conflict; the brand invests
up to 20% of its revenue into the education of Kashmiri children.
