The Wave Newsletter 1 Newsletter Volume 4, 4th Quarter 2015 The Official Newsletter of the Canyon Lake Republican Womens Club, Canyon Lake, Texas On New Years Eve 2015, I had the opportunity to review the CLRW Scrapbook Karen Baker completed for us. Wow! It was a joy to recall the accomplishments from 2015, month by month. However, the real treat was being reminded of the contributions of so many dedicated members – who are the heart of our club! I extend a huge Thank Youto all of you for your support and hard work! I am especially thankful for the 2105 CLRW Board Members: Kim Engquist, Donna Dishman, Marilyn Burrow, Barbara Knight, Brenda Power, Linda Laird, and Carol Little. Under their leadership, CLRW had an outstanding cast of guest speakers, our Repuplicans were a hit in the two Canyon Lake parades, and our FUNdraiser exceeded all expectations. Together, we raised an unprecedented amount of money that will be used to support our Texas Republican candidates in 2016. Im so pleased to highlight the generosity of this club as we joined in support of the Holes 4 Heroes Golf Tournament, the Fischer Store Road and Hays County flood victims, Fort Sam Houston Fisher House, the 9/11 Freedom Walk, Halloween in Sattler, and the Thanksgiving Meal at Startzville Elementary School. The community spirit is surely alive in CLRW! At our Christmas Luncheon, I was honored to present gifts to three of our members. Jennifer Lambert stepped down as our TFRW Deputy President for Region IX, and she will be missed. I have always appreciated her dedication to our club and her availability. I always knew she was there for me, ready to address any of my concerns. Patti Johnson, our Standing Committee Chair for Awards & Achievements, faithfully submitted all of the documentation that garnered CLRW the Diamond Achievement Award at the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) Convention, and the John Goodwin Tower Award of Excellence, Caring for America Award, Americanism Award, and Campaign Activities Award at the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) Convention! Without Pattis due diligence, this club would not have received the recognition it so clearly deserves. Thank you, Patti!!!! We also honored Barbara Knight, our 3rd VP of Fundraising, whose indomitable spirit and organizational skills led us to our most successful fundraiser ever! The 2015 Cajun Catfish Fry FUNdraiser netted over $16,000 – a tremendous accomplishment! Now that 2016 is here, its time to focus on the upcoming elections. First is Iowas caucus on February 1, followed by New Hampshires primary on February 9. Then, South Carolinas primary is on February 20, and Nevadas caucus is on February 23. Texas, and 13 other states, will hold primaries or caucuses on March 1. Remember – your vote counts this time in the Presidential Election Primary! Please mark your calendars for January 26 and plan to attend the Comal County Republican Partys CandidatesForum at the GVTC Auditorium. Please see the flyer on page 3 for more information. In closing, lets all give prayerful thanks for a healthy and thriving Caleb Johnson. He is our best gift ever in 2015. Happy New Year! Remember, BE AN INFORMED VOTER! Newsletter Volume 4, 4th Quarter 2015

The Official Newsletter of the Canyon Lake Republican Women’s Club, Canyon Lake, Texas

On New Year’s Eve 2015, I had the opportunity to review the CLRW Scrapbook Karen Baker completed for us. Wow! It was a joy to recall the accomplishments from 2015, month by month. However, the real treat was being reminded of the contributions of so many dedicated members – who are the heart of our club! I extend a huge ‘Thank You’ to all of you for your support and hard work!

I am especially thankful for the 2105 CLRW Board Members: Kim Engquist, Donna Dishman, Marilyn Burrow, Barbara Knight, Brenda Power, Linda Laird, and Carol Little. Under their leadership, CLRW had an outstanding cast of guest speakers, our Re’pup’licans were a hit in the two Canyon Lake parades, and our FUNdraiser exceeded all expectations. Together, we raised an unprecedented amount of money that will be used to support our Texas Republican candidates in 2016.

I’m so pleased to highlight the generosity of this club as we joined in support of the Holes 4 Heroes Golf Tournament, the Fischer Store Road and Hays County flood victims, Fort Sam Houston Fisher House, the 9/11 Freedom Walk, Halloween in Sattler, and the Thanksgiving Meal at Startzville Elementary School.

Without Patti’s due diligence, this club would not have received the recognition it so clearly deserves.

Now that 2016 is here, it’s time to focus on the upcoming elections. First is Iowa’s caucus on February 1, followed by New Hampshire’s primary on February 9. Then, South Carolina’s primary is on February 20, and Nevada’s caucus is on February 23. Texas, and 13 other states, will hold primaries or caucuses on March 1. Remember – your vote counts this time in the Presidential Election Primary!

Please mark your calendars for January 26 and plan to attend the Comal County Republican Party’s Candidates’ Forum at the GVTC Auditorium. Please see the flyer on page 3 for more information.

In closing, let’s all give prayerful thanks for a healthy and thriving Caleb Johnson. He is our best gift ever in 2015.

Happy New Year!

January Business Meeting

It's official -- CLRW is in the button-making business! Our first product, the popular button that said

“All I want for Christmas is a Republican President” sold out quickly.

We’re currently getting our website updated with sample button photos and ordering info, so we’ll soon be

advertising our button-making services online. Then, members of the Club officially become sales personnel!

Our full-color buttons are Mylar-covered, 3 inches in diameter. We can make buttons for most any occasion:

birthdays, anniversaries, reunions & special events, sports teams, and Republican political candidates. We

can use a client's logo or assist in design. And we can produce them in a timely way. Check out our page on

CLRW's website, and look over our guidelines and pricing schedule. Please help us spread the word about

our button-making enterprise and help us sell some buttons!!!
