Sunday Notes

Board of Directors: The next Peace Board

of Directors meeting will be held on

Wednesday, October 26, in the church

parlor. All are welcome to attend.

Seeds to Branches Meetings: The Peace

Board of Directors and other congregation

leaders have set the following informational

meetings to provide updates on the proposed

Seeds to Branches school expansion plan:

Saturday, October 29, at 5:30pm in the

Peace School cafeteria, and Sunday, October

30, at 10:15am in the Peace Church gym.

These meetings will be held ahead of the

November 1 Congregational Gathering

(6:30pm at the school) to provide updated

information about Seeds to Branches, the

three-year generosity campaign for the

expansion of Peace School’s Early Childhood

Center to include infant and toddler care. The

meetings will examine the feasibility of the

expansion plan, building renderings and more.

All are encouraged to attend.

Worship Night in America: Join us as we

present “Worship Night in America” on

Tuesday, October 25, at 7pm at Peace

Church. Hosted by contemporary Christian

singer Chris Tomlin and presented by Peace

Church, we will gather to watch the movie

presentation of “Worship Night in America: An

Evening of Unity and Prayer for Our Country.”

Tickets are $7 and must be purchased in

advance. The link is on our website home

page, www.PeaceSaginaw.org.

Sign Language: A new American Sign

Language class meets on Wednesdays at

6pm in the church Christ Care Room (211). If

you can be committed to the class and would

like to learn more about joining, contact Rene

Wuckert at 752.7840.

Safety Concerns: We have lots of activity

at Peace Church throughout the week with

Bible studies, meetings and more. We also

have children here attending both a HeadStart

program and a charter school. For the safety

of not only our staff and members, but of the

children here at school, please do not prop

open any of the doors throughout the church

building. Thank you for your understanding

and cooperation.

New Church Directory: Have you signed up

for your new church directory photo? Our

directory would be incomplete without you!

Photos will be taken in October and

November. All photography will take place at

our Adams campus EXCEPT during

Thanksgiving week, which will take place at

our Lawndale campus. Sign up at the photo

registration table before or after church, or

online at www.PeaceSaginaw.org/directory.

SUPPORTING

PEACE MINISTRIES

Gift Cards for Seminary Students: Peace

Women in Mission is leading an effort to help

LCMS seminary students and their families.

On October 23 and October 30, monetary

donations will be accepted at the Peace Scrip

table between the two Sunday morning

services. The goal is to purchase Walmart gift

cards through the Scrip program (which

benefits Peace school) to support the food

bank for our LCMS seminary students and

their families in St. Louis and Fort Wayne. Any

amount is welcome, and receipts will be

provided for those who desire one.

Scouts Popcorn: Peace Cub Scout

Camden Richardson will be selling Scout

popcorn on Sunday, October 23, between the

9am and 11:15am services at the church.

Christmas in October: The Community

Village is Peace School’s mission project this

year. Donations are sought this month to help

residents decorate the facility for Christmas.

Because of fire code, specific items will be

collected this month: strings of lights, table

centerpieces (wood or glass only), money for

certified trees, Christmas wrapping paper,

bows, tape, cards and postage stamps,

nativity sets (wood or glass only), holiday

chocolates (regular and sugar-free) and

Christmas CDs. Drop off your items at Peace

School or in the donation bin in the church

basement Donation Center.

Eight-Grade Fundraiser: The Peace School

eighth-grade class is selling jewelry between

the 9am and 11:15am Sunday services to

benefit the class trip to Washington, D.C.

Please visit the table in the church gym, or

contact any Peace eighth-grader or parent.

Helping Military: Aaron’s Gifts from Home

will be packing Christmas boxes to send to

deployed soldiers, so donations are sought by

November 13. Suggested donations

include: Beef jerky/Slim Jims, Spam, canned

fruit, chili or beef stew, tuna packets, ramen

noodles, Pop Tarts, hot cocoa mix, individual

coffee packets, drink mixes, hand warmers,

baby wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes,

deodorant, sanitary napkins, floss, books,

puzzle books, DVDs, CDs and dice. All

hygiene items should be travel size. If you feel

moved to give toward this project, a donation

box is located in the church basement

Donation Center. Thank you for supporting

our troops who have to be away from home

for Christmas. Details: Jessica Beadle,

Adult Bible Study - Opportunities to Gather, Grow, & Go

As disciples at Peace we all have an opportunity to join a small group to help one another grow In Christ. There is a

list of currently open small groups available in the Info Center in the lobby of the church, in the church office, or you may visit the website ”bit.ly/plc-smallgroups” to view the list of Bible studies/small groups available. All these

groups would welcome you to come and visit them!
