They managed a win and a draw and two close losses but showed great sportsmanship and leadership. Well done girls on a great effort on the day and for training throughout Term 3. Thank you to the parents who supported this event and thank you to Sarah Grey, Sol Brennan, Yvonne Elsworth, Fiona deBono and Tara Constable who helped out on the day.

‘The not so secret garden’

Earlier this year, our support classes successfully applied and received a grant to establish a sensory garden in the front playground. With the assistance of the P & C and fundraising efforts of families, this process has begun. To date students have: built garden beds and trellises, grown seedlings from seeds, propagated plants from cuttings, weeded, planted, watered, maintained a worm farm, mulched and eaten vegetables they have sown and grown. All students have developed an understanding of the growing and harvesting processes and have enjoyed every moment. Most importantly students have worked collaboratively with other classes resulting in many new friendships being formed.

The plans for the next exciting stage have now been finalised and students will begin planting plants that

they have propagated into the garden over the coming

weeks. During this process we will move an existing fence outwards to Richard Avenue that will provide a

grassed area for the students that currently spend lunch and recess in the front playground (concrete).

We could really use help with: digging holes,

concreting and moving/installing the new fenced area. If you are interested in assisting in any way with this

new and exciting development please contact Mrs Bolitho via email at: [email protected]

DRAWING CLUB

This Term, Year 4, 5 and 6 students are invited to come to drawing club, first half lunch on Tuesdays. We will be learning Manga style drawing and experimenting with drawing in charcoal. Drawing Club will start next Tuesday 17 November.
