From the Principal’s Desk
Welcome to week 7. Things are really starting to get busy now. In this busy time
of the year please make sure you take the time to rest and rejuvenate. I have
noticed the students are starting to get tired as the end of the year approach-
es. We have three weeks till term break with Friday 16th December being the
last day of term for students.
Fairymount Festival.
On Friday we caught the bus to town for our excursion to the ‘Fairymount Festi-
val’ where we joined up with the students from Afterlee PS. We had a wonderful
day. We visited the Roxy Art Gallery, Kyogle Library, walked the main street
and stopped in at the Kyogle Youth Action Centre to ‘hang out’ for a while. It
was great to see all the shop fronts decorated and to chat with all the shop
owners. There were some very creative windows. We met the Tin Man, Dorothy
and the wicked witch from The Wizard of Oz, The Pink Ladies from Grease,
many colonial people and some dairy farmers along the way. The effort of the
shop owners was spectacular. We even got to decorate the Roxy Gallery with
our own art work. There were many highlights but I think the senior boys en-
joyed meeting Redfoo the best. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Pam
from Murphy’s buses for donating the bus to take us to this wonderful excur-
sion.
Week 7
21/11/16
From the Principal’s Desk cont. Farewell Miss Allan.
Friday saw Miss Allan’s last official day at Wiangaree Public School. We would like to take this opportunity to
thank her for her work and dedication. The staff and students really appreciated and enjoyed having Miss Al-
lan in our school. We wish her all the best for her future studies.
Concert
Our end of year concert is fast approaching, costumes are being gathered and students
are working hard to prepare their performances. The Senior room is not getting home-
work sent home this week or next as I would like the students to focus on ensuring they
know all their lines and actions for the play. Any assistance you can give them would be
greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to invite extend family to our concert as we love our grandparents and
the like to able to attend and help us celebrate our school. We will be having a shared
light supper (finger food, savoury and sweet) and ask that all families help contribute to
this. If you have extra guess attending please help provide to cater for them too. Last
years concert I am told, saw a packed hall of family and friends. This can be a lot of peo-
ple to provide food for without knowing how many are coming so please contribute generously if you can.
P&C Raffle
Last week you should have received raffle tickets for the P&C Christmas Raffle. This will be drawn on the
night of the concert, Friday 9th December. If you require more tickets please let the office know. I would like
to thank Col and Mary Garred, and Allison Wallace for the generous donations for our first to third raffle
prizes. The P & C are requesting donations of non perishable items to create a food Christmas hamper as an
additional raffle prize. Items can be bought into school so we can start collating the hamper. Thank you.
Intensive Swimming—NO COST
Intensive Swimming starts next Monday 28th November for 10 days. A note was sent home last week. Please
make sure you have sent this back as it indicates how well your child can swim and we must have their permis-
sion note returned so your child can get into the pool. We are very lucky this year as Intensive Swimming will
not cost the students anything to participate thanks to a sporting grant. This is a wonderful opportunity.
Kinder Orientation
Our four new Kindergarten students will visit our school one more time this Wednesday before starting offi-
cially with us next year. We hope they have enjoyed their time trying our ‘big school’. A big THANK YOU to
Mrs Crane and Caroline for hosting students and parents. You have really made them feel welcome and to have
a wonderful experience. We are very delighted to be able to welcome our new students to 2017 Kinder.
Regards Kathryn Clark Congratulations to Cristy and Arron on the safe arrival of Ace. A baby brother for Connor.
Fairymount Festival. My favourite part was patting the calves at CRT and getting lollies, ice blocks and chips from the shops! By Tilly
