Library News Book Fair Our Scholastic Book Fair is on next week in the Library (see leaflet going home today). All of the profit from the sale of items is used to purchase Library resources for the students. The children will have the opportunity, this
Friday, to view the Fair items and fill out their ‘wish lists’. Children and/or adults will be able to make purchases at the following times:
Times Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri
30th July 31
st July 1
st Aug 2
nd Aug 3
rd Aug
8.30 – 8.55
11.20 – 11.40 2.45 – 3.15
One copy of each book will be retained so that even the last child to visit the Fair will have the opportunity to see what is on offer. Orders will be taken, with money, when popular items have sold out. Based on last year’s experience, Scholastic is very efficient at sending out the re-orders which usually arrive within 10 days. There are no re-orders on Variety Box items or posters, so first in, best dressed. We hope to see you at the Book Fair! Mrs Richards
Website Don’t forget to regularly check our School website for details on school events and links to other useful information. The newsletter is uploaded each week, calendar dates can be checked and you can easily access other interesting sites such as Parent Line, Healthy Kids, Fresh For Kids and more. These sites all provide information and advice on helping to keep our kids healthy and happy. Check them out under ‘Useful Links’ on our homepage!
Sports News P-2 Athletics Carnival Due to the condition of the bottom oval, the P-2 Athletics Carnival will be modified to a tabloid activity carnival.
Age running races will be held at a later date when the oval is in a suitable condition. The tabloid activities will commence at 10.00am this Friday, 27
th July in the Infants playground.
Parents are welcome to attend and join us for lunch afterwards. Ms Moroney 3-6 Athletics Carnival Due to the wet nature of Bahloo Oval, this Wednesday’s Primary Carnival has been postponed. We will attempt to have it either next Tuesday, 31
st July or Thursday, 2
nd August. If the
oval is still too wet, the carnival will be cancelled for this year as the Zone carnival is the following week and we will not have time to run ours before Zone is held. Jarrod Mullen Cup Due to insufficient players, we have withdrawn our team from this Friday’s competition. Friday Football As the Knights are running the Jarrod Mullen Cup this Friday, there is no Friday Football this week, for senior or juniors. It will resume on Friday, 3
rd August (Week 3).

Preschool Patch Hello from Mrs Jacobs, Mrs McKay, Peta, Nicole and Kim at the Preschool Patch, Preschool children attending the day of the sports carnival will be able to order their lunch from the canteen. Parents and friends are more than welcome to come and watch the children participate in the sports activities. PJ preschoolers are more than welcome but will need to attend with an adult. We ask that Preschool children are not eating on arrival. Our early morning learning session is an important one and unfortunately it is not a time in which we can focus on eating. If your child has not had breakfast, let staff know and we can accommodate a drink and small snack before lunch!

Care of Country Project
As part of the Region’s Sustainable Education Practice Windale Public School students are linking with our PLANT volunteers to learn more about taking pride in, and care of, our environment. On a rotational basis each class will spend time learning about the care of plants, develop gardening skills, be involved in assisting in our volunteer gardeners with the overall presentation of the school grounds AND ultimately develop a new recreational skill! The students will be provided with the appropriate gardening equipment, including gloves. The class will be supervised by the class teacher but have the opportunity to work in small groups, on specific tasks, with the gardeners. The students will need to wear their hat and preferably have a water bottle handy. If you wish your child NOT to participate then please notify the school on 49488864, or contact the class teacher, and they will be given alternate work in a classroom.
