I ensured that we arrived in time to see if the hype surrounding new band Inglorious

was justified. Following the opening song Until I Die I can confirm the latter in the

affirmative. The six piece band look and sound like that they have been playing for years and

not months and with Swedish guitarist Andreas Eriksson they have a real axe hero but,

undoubtedly, star of the show is Nathan James who is able to replicate his high octane vocals

in the live arena.

Inglorious set was largely made up with songs from their soon to be released, self-

titled debut album plus a couple of covers The first of the latter was a great version of the

with his sticks. He jokingly announced that the cowbell was the fourth member of the band

but must have been somewhat amused at the crowd reaction , as a chorus of, Cowbell,

cowbell, cowbell echoed through the Ritz.Even though there were only three musicians on the stage it was difficult to decide

which one to focus on such was their individual virtuosity to their respective instruments. Im

no musician, but I sure know a decent guitarist when I see one and I have not seen many

better than Richie Kotzen.

There were many highlights this evening, one notable one being Kotzens acoustic

performance of Fire where the audience came to life during the chorus. His voice is

reminiscent to Chris Cornell at times and seemed strongest when singing the ballads.Ghost Town highlighted the symbiotic melody within the band whilst Im No

Angel was emotive leaving the band to conclude the main set with the wonderful Elevate.

Kotzen began playing the keyboards on his return to the stage before switching back

to guitar and being joined by his band members for a great rendition of the already classic

Regret. That left just enough time for Desire and a thunderous ovation from the capacity

crowd that all knew and appreciated what I phenomenal performance we had just witnessed.

The fantastic Kotzen looked physically shattered at the end of the show having poured his

heart and soul into the performance.The Winery Dogs are three immensely talented musicians that fortunately have the

songs and showmanship in abundance to highlight these capabilities.

Although a great setlist the omission of my two favourite Dogs songs The Dying

from the debut and War Machine from the latest album prevented it from being perfect.
