  • THE REPORT:50 Years of the University of YorkHELENA HORTON INVESTIGATES WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE FOR STUDENTS JOINING THEUNIVERSITY OF YORK WHEN IT FIRST OPENED ITS DOORS 50 YEARS AGO

Our campus might not seem to be exactly state-of-the-art and extravagant now, but back in the day

it was considered dynamic. The lake was criticized for being too fancy, albeit necessary to have the

buildings on such marshy lands, while the covered walkways were an innovation in the 1 960s.
