The Chamber Spotlight

KATHLEEN VOIGT

I have been associated with Wells Fargo since 2011 and I have been in the mortgage business for over 10 years. Prior to this career, I was an associate broker for Houlihan

Lawrence specializing in the Yorktown market. I started my career at WAMU and I have consistently ranked in the top 25% among other mortgage consultants with Wells Fargo. I have received various awards including Westchester Magazine's "best of the best" as voted by consumers. I am a graduate with a BA degree in sociology from the Ohio State University.

Why Wells Fargo? There are so many products and programs that make Wells Fargo the #1 lender in the country and perhaps the reason why we have a 40% market share. For example, I can provide mortgage benefits to eligible union workers and their families by offering our Union Plus loan. This program and benefit cannot be offered by any other lender. Perhaps the most important benefit of all to union members and their families is the disability, strike and layoff benefit where Wells Fargo provides a grant or interest free loan for 6 months or up to $15000. We also offer relationship pricing which provides clients a discount on their rates if they have checking account with Wells. We have community loans which is a great alternative to FHA. I also provide renovation loans for primary or investment properties whether the improvements are a total facelift or just cosmetic. We also have "loan tracker" which gives the whole process transparency and where the client can view the status of their loan at any time in the process. Most importantly, I look to provide my clients a positive experience when purchasing a property.

Here we are, less than two weeks away from The 7th Annual Yorktown Festival and Street Fair, co-sponsored by the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce in association with the Town of Yorktown. As President of the Chamber, it is my pleasure to preside over my first Festival. Over the years, I have seen it become one of the most anticipated events in town and local communities as an opportunity to introduce the business community and local government to its residents. It’s a day for fun and relaxation from our youngest future residents to our seniors citizens and everyone in between.

As you walk around the Festival, please pay particular attention to the more than 200 vendors displaying their goods and services to more than 20,000 visitors. It wouldn’t be a festival without all the “fun stuff” – great food, arts and crafts, rides and activities for kids, and the new additions added to this year’s venue such as the “Y” Dog Challenge, our first Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest, new motorcycles on display, continuous entertainment provided by Bob Hill of the Mohansic Grill Open Mic, local bands and an enlarged Dog Costume Parade.

We are excited to announce that, as a major sponsor of the American Cancer Society, we will be presenting

them with a $5,000 check at 4:30pm at the Festival. Once again we will conduct a Blood Drive with the Red Cross and provide a free Senior Luncheon. I never realized how much time and energy goes into putting on such an event and I want to thank everyone associated with it for their time and effort in making it possible and the success that it has become. If you need a vendor space, call the office at 914-245-4599.

We are in the planning stages of hosting the 2015 political debates at the Yorktown Stage on October 19 and 21, 2015. We urge you to attend these debates as this is a very important election for Yorktown. The Supervisor, Board Members, Town Clerk and Town Justices that you elect will be responsible for moving Yorktown in a positive direction. Costco finally is ready to open their doors and the Yorktown business community is on the move in the right direction. This election should be top priority for our membership and the entire town.

See you at the Festival and at the Political Debates!
