hen Steven Lee, an eighth-grader living in Philadelphia, travels to Hong Kong on a class

trip, the adventure that awaits him is much more educational—and dangerous—than he could have

ever imagined. On a visit to a strange, vast museum where muffled screams emanate from the walls,

Steven follows the trail of a peculiar tour guide, a young woman named Jasmine, into an

underground cavern. What he finds there—twelve giant pools of ancient mystical energy, based on

the signs of the Chinese zodiac—will bring out powers in him he didn’t know he had, and put him

at the center of an epic battle to save the world.

Hiding in the shadows of the underground lair, Steven watches Jasmine creep between the pools,

her sights on a dark figure hovering above them, suspended in midair, shouting commands. The

figure—a man named Maxwell—writhes in pain as a team of scientists begins transferring the

energies, one at a time, into his body. But their progress is interrupted when Maxwell suddenly

spots Steven. The domed chamber erupts in chaos as Jasmine leaps onto Maxwell’s back, distracting

him in a struggle that positions them both over a pool crackling with energy—a pool that begins to

release that energy, infusing them both with the raging power of the Dragon. The excruciating

process leaves Jasmine in a heap on the ground. She has saved Steven from Maxwell’s clutches, but

has made herself easy prey.

Steven must decide: will I save her? Can I save her? The hero in him is compelled to try. He joins

the fray—Maxwell has now unleashed a flank of soldiers called the Vanguard—and unwittingly

becomes infused with the power of the Tiger. Using his newfound strength and agility, Steven

carries Jasmine to safety, along with her partner, Carlos, a scientist out to sabotage Maxwell. They

escape through a chasm in the roof…but they aren’t alone. Traces of energy from the remaining

pools have also been released into the atmosphere, Carlos explains, and will be seeking hosts,

unsuspecting recipients of immense, potentially overwhelming powers. They must locate these

people before Maxwell does. Bent on acquiring all the energies for himself, Maxwell will stop at

nothing to get them in his dangerous quest for power.

One by one, Jasmine, Carlos, and Steven locate the young “zodiacs” in a journey that takes them

across the world, finally assembling them at a hidden headquarters in Greenland where they are

trained to harness their powers and use them for good. A natural Tiger, Steven leads the newly

formed team as they face off against Maxwell and his Vanguard, who have begun to acquire powers

of their own. The Zodiacs will have to summon all of their training and trust in each other to stand

a chance at defeating Maxwell and aligning the powers to the side of right.

A powerful epic that explores a fascinating mythology, THE ZODIAC: CONVERGENCE is more

than just an action-packed adventure. It’s the story of an ordinary boy who finds himself in

extraordinary circumstances. What makes him exceptional is not the superpower he acquires, but

the humanity and bravery he has possessed all along. Readers will see themselves in Steven as he

explores his own past and considers his future, just as they will thrill to uncover sides of themselves

portrayed in the array of vibrant characters and personalities depicted around him in this richly

drawn world.

About the Creators

STAN LEE is known to millions as the man whose

Super Heroes propelled Marvel to its preeminent

position in the comic book industry. His co-creations

include Spider-Man™, The Avengers ™, X-Men™,

Iron Man™, The Incredible Hulk™, The Fantastic

Four™, and hundreds of others. He introduced Spider-

Man™ as a syndicated newspaper strip that became the

most successful of all syndicated adventure strips and has

appeared in more than 500 newspapers worldwide. Stan

currently remains Chairman Emeritus of Marvel, as well

as a member of the Editorial Board of Marvel Comics.

Stan is currently the Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of POW! Entertainment, a multimedia

entertainment company based in Beverly Hills, CA, which he founded with production partner

Gill Champion and the late intellectual property specialist Arthur Lieberman. POW! has debuted

several titles in the publishing sphere, including Solider Zero, Traveler, and Starborn with Boom

Comics, Stan Lee and the Mighty 7 with Archie Comics and Genius Brands International, and

working on the creation of a South American superhero franchise.

STUART MOORE is a writer, book editor, and award-

winning comics editor. His writing includes Civil War,

the first in a line of prose novels from Marvel Comics;

The Art of Iron Man 3 (Marvel, with Marie Javins); and

THE 99, a multicultural superhero comic from Teshkeel

Media. His other writing includes Web of Spider-Man,

Wolverine Noir, and Namor: The First Mutant (Marvel);

Firestorm (DC Comics); and assorted Star Trek and

Transformers projects (IDW Publishing).
