TOY DONATIONS: The Bazaar is quickly approaching and we are

collecting gently used toy donations for our toy room. Please bring toy

donations to the school so we can price them in preparation for the Bazaar.

BAZAAR JARS—We are asking that each student bring a mason

(or pickle) jar, or similarly sized plastic container to school filled with

whatever your imagination decides!!!! Here are a few ideas to get

you started: candy, marbles, hot chocolate and candy canes, bath

goodies, stickers, candle (in a jar!).

You may make as many as you want! Each jar will be numbered and,

at the Bazaar, guests will have the opportunity to draw a number for

$4. They will then take home the surprise Bazaar Jar bearing that

number at our Jar Jamboree! Reminder that all items in jar must be

peanut, pistachio and cashew free. Please have jars to the school

before Friday, November 23rd. If you need an empty jar, we have

plenty at school. Jars can be picked up in the office.

BAKING NEEDED—We are in need of some baked items to be sold in the baking

room. If you are able to help in this way, please contact Nicole Green at 613-885-1819 or

[email protected] (please note: correction in email from this sheet that went

home last week). Reminder that all baked items must be peanut, pistachio and

cashew free.

CLASS BASKETS—Each student is asked to bring an item to contribute to their class theme basket which will

be sold at the Silent Auction! These baskets are always very popular and raise a significant amount of money for the

school! Themes this year are:

Junior Kindergarten - School lunch snacks

Senior Kindergarten – Date night

Grade 1 – Christmas (wrapping, decor, gift labels)

Grade 2 – Chocolate

Grade 3 – Coffee/tea

Gr. 4/5 – Arts/crafts (painting, knitting, scrap booking)

Gr. 6 – Games night

Gr. 7/8 – Everything dutch

Please have your items for the baskets into the school office by Thursday, November 22. Thank you for your

contributions.

LIVE AUCTION ITEMS—This year we’re trying something a little different and having a live auction at 1:30 pm

on the day of the bazaar, with Comedian Timmy Boyle being the auctioneer. (There will be a

supervised movie room for the kids during the auction, featuring the movie Charlie Brown’s

Christmas)

We are looking for donations of merchandise or services to auction off. Your name or

business will be on display with the item during the day. The auctioneer will also acknowledge

all live-auction contributions verbally during the auction of your item.

Please include a business card to be displayed with your donation. Items may be sent to the school. (Examples of donations might be: refurbished furniture, sports tickets, cottage getaway,

home made items, tools, home décor, family outings such as ski passes etc.). Please have

auction items to the school by Friday, November 23rd.

FAMILY PHOTO OPPORTUNITY—Arlene Repar Photography will be returning to the TCS Christmas

Bazaar! Arlene will once again be offering 15 minute mini portrait sessions using new props and background.

Each mini-session will cost $50 and you will receive 5 high resolution images on a disc ready to be printed in time

for holiday gift giving! To sign up for a time slot, please contact the TCS office or drop by the photo room during

the bazaar to check walk-in availability.

GIFT CARD PROGRAM:

Looking for gift cards for a special someone or do you own your own business and need the perfect gift for your staff?

This time of year, many businesses and organizations give their valued employees, customers and suppliers Christmas and Year

End gifts. What better gift than a Gift Card? Everyone enjoys receiving a gift card from their favorite restaurant or retailer. Check

out the vast choice available for purchase in the order form attached below.

Did you know our supplier purchases gift cards in bulk directly from each supplier? These gift cards are the

same ones that you can purchase at full face value from these retailers. However, by purchasing the gift cards

through our supplier TCS earns revenue on every dollar spent.

Come visit us in the office or at the Bazaar to order/purchase gift cards!

NOTE: The deadline to place an order for Christmas will be Monday,

December 10. Any orders placed after December 10, will be processed in the new year.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the

Lord. This week we will focus on how God is

thoughtful, caring and has a plan for all his

creation. We see this in his care for animals,

providing them with the tools they need to find

food, shelter and water. We see this in our Bible

story of Joseph that while at times his circumstances

looked bad, God always cared for him and worked

it out for good in the end. And we can find joy and

hope in the knowledge that he has a plan for us too!

Our letter of the week is Hh. H is for hot chocolate

which we may all need with the cold weather!

There is still time to bring in bazaar jars and more

are always welcome. Please bring in your classroom

basket item if you haven’t done so already. Also, I

am looking for a few paper towel rolls for a squirrel

game.

SENIOR KINDERGARTEN [email protected]

We will continue memorizing Joshua 1: 9 - "Have I

not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do

not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord

your God will be with you wherever you go. "This

week in our Bible stories we will be learning about

how God uses the plagues to show Pharoah, the

Egyptians and the Isrealites that He alone is God.

This week we will be working with the letter ‘H,h’.

Continue to spend time reading each day!

In our unit - Patterns in Time, we have learned that

the different seasons and weather patterns affects

our clothing and activity choices. This week we will

investigate how changing seasons affects the

activities and even appearance of different animals.

Collecting, Counting and Measuring will be our

focus in Mathematics. We are currently making

number books. As we make these books we are

practicing printing each number and recognizing the

quantities that number represents.

If you would like to order from the November

Scholastic book orders, please have it in by the end

of this week. Thank you for the mason jars for the

Bazaar. More jars are always welcome.

GRADE 1 [email protected]

This week we will "wonder" together about living

our treasure table at school. A special shell, a

beautiful container, a jewel, a piece of wood, etc.

are just some of the many treasures students can

bring in. We will be looking for treasures around

our school too. Report cards go home on Friday. I

will also send home a packet of math work and

other sheets from Term 1. Students portfolios will

also be updated on Seesaw. I am so proud of Grade

term.
