Technical Manager for Warehouses and Railway facilities
buildings special steel structures in Thriassio Pedio project in
Athens. Thriassio Pedio is the central and largest multi-modal
transport node (Freight Center) in Greece, receiving cargo and freight
through the main Railway axes of Greece and the commercial port of
Piraeus (Ikonio), with which it acts as long distance dry port, connected
though a newly constructed railway line. (2014-2015)

It is a building of approx 12.000sqm, of special aesthetic and other
requirements to minimize the environmental impact of a semi-industrial
building in a purely agricultural area. The core is a 4600 tons non
symmetric steel structure designed and built in less than 6 months due
to a very tight schedule of the entire project. Budget 13million €.
Steel structure design fabricaton and erection management, as well as
responsible for the development and erection of the special
prefabricated concrete façade elements with owners’ company logo
which characterizes the building specific high end marketing oriented
aspect.

35,000 seats fully covered new built soccer stadium including 6-floor
building for facilities and corporate suites. Complete demolition of the
old facilities. The project was accomplished within 18 months including
design and construction in order to be ready for the 2004 Athens
Olympics. Approximately 7,000 tons of structural steel structures and
40,000 m3 of concrete structures.
• Review all design produced by the design team in Greece and
Italy. Integrate construction requirements in the design.
Responsible for the collaboration with Professor Massimo
Majowiecki in Italy, designer of the steel structure.
• Plan, schedule and monitor the issuance of Particular
Technical Specifications, Technical Requirements and all
necessary contractual documents for all earthwork steel and
concrete works to be sub-contracted.
• Make sure that contractual obligations are respected.
• Organize and follow up of wind tunnel test for the validation of
the design parameters of the cantilever stadium roof.
• Preparation of tender documents and negotiations with
subcontractors.
• Construction, shop-drawings and as built drawing review and approval.
• Follow up of the fabrication, in subcontractor’s facilities.
• Support technical issues raised by the on-site works of major sub-contractors (J&P AVAX, INTRAKAT etc).

2,880 m (9,449 ft) long, four spans, cable stayed bridge. Due to the peculiar conditions of the straits, several unique engineering problems needed to be considered. The water depth reaches 65 m, the seabed is mostly of loose sediment, the seismic activity and possibility of tectonic movement is significant, and the Gulf of Corinth is expanding at a rate of about 30 mm a year. For these reasons, special construction techniques were applied for the construction of the bridge. Antirion site Greece, Darlington UK, Italy

• Construction, shop-drawings and as built drawing review and approval.
