The institutional logo has been edited to fit in the genre of the movie.Mise-en-scene = horror – old and deserted.

The dark room connotes mystery in the movie, the sense of danger and the unknown.Tracking into the room connotes the sense of the audience being dragged in.

Text on the actual screen – the intertitle on the mise-en-scene symbolises whatever there is in the darkness is linked to the phone call. Sound – sense of static and interference. – diegetic sound – phone call = normal. Heartbeat creates fear.

The camera takes you into the darkness as does the use of editing – reinforces the idea that this movie’s genre is horror. This creates uneasiness for the audience and puts them in the same position as the main character.Innocence of child’s voice
