What is to be done?• Students want to take responsibility for their own preparation for
placement learning• University should
communicate consistent, timely, accurate, relevant placement information minimise delays in placement allocation/confirmation but be honest about unforeseen
problems ensure web-based information sources are up-to-date and widely- advertised with clear,
jargon and acronym-free information provide practical, theory-based, and emotional preparation for placement learning support students and placement providers that meets agreed standards - in preparation for
learning, teaching and assessment on placement; in addressing concerns arising from or during placement learning in a timely way
• Placement providers should be supported by the university to enable staff to support student learning: training and updates develop comprehensive, focused induction events and materials, appropriate to the
student's stage in the learning programme
